The heavy pre-snap motion offense has breathed new life into the running game. Also, helps that these superstars at their respective positions can be had for like half the price of a wr 2/3 nowadays.
It also helps that modern defenses play so much nickel and dime they basically dare the O to run on them.
I'll note with Barkley, Jacobs, and Henry I think it's just a fluke that 3 extremely talented RBs hit FA while on bad teams and went to good teams AND have stayed healthy. That ain't happening every off-season.
But generally we have probably overcorrected on RB contracts and now there's actually value there with some vets. Sent from my SM-F731U using

I was going to make the same point. I'd say there is a clear market inefficiency with top flight RBs at this point. Teams should not be letting guys like Henry, Jacobs, and Barkley walk for what they got paid.
Henry is a bit different because he's older, but holy **** what a bargain for a guy who can do what he does in that offense. Jones has also been great for Minny, so kudos to them as well for signing a guy who is that dynamic on the cheap. Joe Mixon has been fantastic for Houston.
All the guys I mentioned are players you can design an entire offense around. Crazy that they hit FA and are available for cheap.
You could spend a 1st round pick and not hit on a guy as good as Jacobs, and the Packers got him on a great deal while he's still relatively young.
