The Packers thrive by doing one thing really well, and it's something that would have me worried if I were an Eagles fan. In that Week 1 game, Hurts hit A.J. Brown for a 67-yard touchdown on a fade route past Jaire Alexander. Hafley's defense apparently got so furious that it decided to stop allowing big plays. At all. That long Brown touchdown was the last time the Packers allowed a team to gain 40 yards or more -- all season. Green Bay hasn't allowed a gain of 40 yards or more on American soil.
To put that in context, every other team has allowed at least six 40-plus yard gains this season. The Eagles, a great defense with a coordinator in Vic Fangio whose espoused goal is to avoid giving up plays over the top, have allowed seven. Only one other defense since 2000 has gone the season without giving up a 40-yard gain.

It's not implausible by any means. Really, if the Packers go to Philly and beat the Eagles, all bets are off. I can easily see them shocking the Lions in Detroit.

I’ll be curious if they open up the playbook a bit and get willis involved in some trick plays or dedicated runs.

That is an absolutely bonkers stat.

It's hard to understate how awesome Hafley has been, and how much the addition of X & Evan Williams have helped

Love the optimism. Wish I felt the same. While I don’t view Philly as some unbeatable juggernaut, this team is just not ready and their X factors on both sides of the ball (Watson, Jaire) are out for the season. I think they roll over and die pretty quickly here.
Do it for Chuck

I'm way more confident if Bullard isn't next to X but not confident enough to predict a win. They need to ride Jacobs hard.

We've lost by 5, 2,10, 3, 2, 2. We may not win but I don't see us "rolling over"

I doubt Bullard will be there regardless if Williams plays. Bullard played in the slot against Chicago while Oladapo started next to X. Before that Zayne Anderson was starting with Bullard in the slot. They seem to very much prefer Bullard as a slot corner rather than safety.

This is an 11 win team where 5 of their 6 losses average out to less then 3 points per game.jakecronus8 wrote:Love the optimism. Wish I felt the same. I get some pessimism considering how the season ended but this team isn't getting boat raced by anyone

Not to mention we just had a week where a bunch of 4-12 teams competed with teams trying to secure playoff seeding. Anything can happen on any given sunday, especially when talking about a double-digit win team as the underdog.

Been so long since the first game that you almost forget we had the Narv Dog kicking and missing a 43-yarder.
