Rashaan Gary has 22 sacks in 3.5 years and we are about to give him $100 mil coming off an ACL.

This is very much the exact same pick.

Gary is a nice player currently, but don't you want more production out of guys you draft with high first round picks?

That is my problem.

Lots of great takes here. JSN haunting us

JSN the same guy everyone was calling a bust last year and now is seen as a top 15 WR JSN?

He had 63 receptions his rookie year. Hardly a bust. Then he made a jump in year two, which you expect from good players. LVN sucked his rookie year and was no better in year 2.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I still think JSG is JAG. Like, he's closer to Doubs than Jefferson. This will be a hot take I hold onto until I'm bludgeoned to death.

Too many acronyms for me. I know JSN is Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Who are JSG and JAG?

Gah, I meant JSN.

But JAG is just a guy.

I can't type. It's been a long day.

To be clear I like JSN. My point is sometimes guys don’t come out crushing it, I’ve got no idea if LVN makes a jump or not but he was also super young, so I’m going to exercise patience

Which is a problem in terms of contract, because we have to decide to offer him big bucks or not before any major evidence if he is worth it (same with Love, etc).

Pass rushers sometimes make serious leaps in Year 3. That's what we've got to hope for, I guess.

They can't even make an extension offer until next year at this time. Against the CBA. So we'll have a full season's worth of data.

Said this in another thread but I'd ask him to put a few pounds on and play inside. He does not have the burst or wiggle movement to be an effective edge and I don't see how you teach or improve that. NFL tackles just own him.

Tell him to gain 10 lbs and his job is to go push the guard in front of him into the backfield.

Or the opposite and lose some weight to get some burst or wiggle.

Van Ness brings nothing on the interior, and he already isn't particularly big for a 4-3 DE at 272. He doesn't know how to use his hands, and he doesn't have any counter moves. All he does is bullrush.

The Packers DL coach was all kinds of terrible, which is why he was canned. I'm willing to give LVN another year.

Wyatt had ups and downs too, to go with a ton of potential. Maybe Wooden could take a jump as well. Brooks is the guy who has exceeded my expectations and hopefully he has even more production ahead.

Make all our front 7 guys take jujitsu in the off season. LVN needs to be able to do something with his hands other than cow tipping

Gutey announced at his season ending press conference that the Packers need to ramp up their urgency in 2025.

Wonder if that includes not taking a developmental prospect in round 1 in April?

JSN is fine. He's not the game-breaker I expected him to be, but he's a quality #2 guy for sure. Zay Flowers is the wideout you guys should be upset we passed on if anything. Gonzales in hindsight would have been the right pick, but Jaire was healthy and coming off an All-Pro caliber season and we still had Rasul as well.
