There've been plenty of elite, undersized pass rushers but 6'1, 240 seems pretty extreme if that's the idea for him going forward.

He's definitely a project at edge, but his get off is special. I'm not as concerned with the height because he makes up for it in arm length. Hopefully he can continue to put on some weight without hindering his speed too much. He's already put on a good amount of weight when he transitioned from off-ball LB to edge. I think his frame could probably add another 8-10 pounds before acceleration starts to be a concern.

This is the only head scratcher pick for me, but considering this pick and the Simmons signing, there seems to be a concerted effort to bring in hybrid chess pieces for Hafley.

Oliver isn't really anything like our other edge rushers or Isaiah Simmons. He's a designated pass rusher with some really productive pass rush metrics. But he's small and likely never to be an every down player. He's a guy who will come on in passing situations and rush the QB, that's his job

How many of those guys do you really need though is the question. I'd argue that Quay is already a dude you need to bite the bullet on and try to convert into a situational pass rusher. Hopper is another athletic dude who might be best utilized as a blitz package weapon. Best comp I can think of is Robert Mathis. 6'2, 245 and he had himself a great career, but that was also 20-years ago. We'll see I guess but it just feels like we've got 4-5 linebackers on the roster with overlapping skillsets/archetypes.

Its the role I was clamoring to try Quay in last season, however I don't think the Packers are ever going to actually do that. And Hopper is a backup LB who is buried. I'm glad the Packers finally decided to add a pass rush specialist

I have nothing to back this up since I'm not sure I've ever seen him do it, but I feel like if Quay was a guy that either Georgia or the Packers thought could beat NFL tackles off the edge, they'd have tried that with him. Kind of like with pitchers in baseball - if a guy has good enough/a wide enough array of pitches, you're going to give him every shot you can to be a starting pitcher before placing him in the bullpen.

Yeah he's basically a lighter Von Miller with shorter arms.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.
