I have no doubt in the world I couldn't change your mind. Given the fact that your every response gives Favre the benefit of the doubt while at the same time vilifies TT, I'm sure you are the purest of Favre loyalists. You even used the standard issue exuse it's not Favre's fault he had a bad game. So you credit Favre with being the main reason we go 13-3 but when he sucks and we lose in the playoffs then its those other guys on the teams fault. Do you realize Favre has thrown more picks than any player in the hisory of the NFL? I guess Favre had a lot of games where he was behind with no running game. No wait...that's only his playoff excuse. His regular season excuse is Favre was a gun slinger and just trying to make things happen and that's why all those picks weren't his fault. Either way it doesn't matter. He carrier us into the playoffs so it's ok that he threw 6 picks against the Rams and a bunch more against the Falcons and Vikings.
What really tells me this is pointless is the fact you blame TT for Favre going to the media. TT should have known better than to make a grown man feel defensive? Well that logic speaks for its self. I guess TT should have just given Favre what he wants and we wouldn't be in this mess. I can't argue with that logic. It has worked with Favre in the past.
Either way all Favre has to do is show up and win back the job he lost when he retired. He thinks he's above that and that tells you all you need to know about Favre.

Fair enough. I for the record, I have never villified TT nor have I made ultimate excuses. Favre threw the picks. History showes that. Watch the game again, and you will see the reasons. That still doesn't change the fact that we lost. Never does one player win or loose a game. It isn't Bill Buckners fault that the Sox lost the world Series, or do you put all the blame on him for the loss? It is my opinion that people have had their mind made up about Brett's style for years. They take every win, but every loss is on him, and nothing short of a Super Bowl win is acceptable.
Whether you believe it or not I am much more of a Packers fan than a Brett fan. If you knew me you would know that I grew up one of the largest Micheal Jordan fans out there. I still follow the Bulls every day, they are my team, Jordan brought me to be their fan in 1984, but I am still a die hard today. I was born in WI, so birth brought me to be a Packers fan, and I always will be. However I am old enough to remember the bad teams. The teams with lots of promise, but no leaders. No solid QB to tie it all together. No play makers to get Lofton the ball.
Brett would come to this team, and if in the same shape as last year, he would be one of the best players on the team. I don't know how anyone says no to that. I disagree with TT. I think he backed the player in the corner, and now is shocked at the results. If Brett has a contract, was the MVP of the NFC last year, and wants to play, he should play. In the middle he choose to retire. That was a mistake now, obviously. But no picks in the playoffs, when we are playing from behind in 2002-2005 change the fact that with him we won 13 games last year. Favre played more games last season than Rodgers has quarters in his whole career. It should have come to this from both sides.
But at the end of the day, if he ever plays again this season has already spelled out what will define it. If Brett doesn't play, and we don't make the playoffs, and Rodgers gets hurt. TT's career will have its defining moment, until he wins a Super Bowl with out Brett Favre.

Recent figures indicate the Packers are about 32 million under the cap. They gained 11.4 mil in cap space by Favre being on the reserve/retire list. He is still counting about 1.4 mi against.
My point is 11.4 is not half of 32. So give TT some credit.
According to AskTheCommish.com, the Packers were just under $18 million under cap on March 26. Favre retired on March 5. I don't know how reliable this website is but that's what they had. If that's accurate, they wouldn't have much space left if Brett returned.
BTW, i thought Bob Harlan's comments that he just didn't want to see Favre play at a diminished level were despicable. It's obvious that the Packers' management shoved Favre out the door. Now they're reaping the rewards for their intransigence.

Favre was still listed on the payroll. He had yet to be put on the retired list.
at the basically 12 mil to the 18 they had, and you get 30.
