Can't really say anymore that's already been said in this thread, but I will say this, my wife really PISSED me off tonight. For the most part, she's been really low key with all of the Favre drama this off-season, but tonight, her true colors showed; it was snide comment after snide comment directed at Rodgers, even when he was making great plays; her blind faith for Favre came out and I was disgusted.

Eventually I called her an idiot and said I refused to watch anymore games with her this season; she ran upstairs and I haven't heard from her since. F*** it, I'm tired of people bashing Aaron because Favre is gone; there is absolutely no basis for their hatred. I probably won't get laid for awhile, but I don't care.

I completely agree with you, but if you thought the Favre/TT standoff was awkward I fear for what your wife now has in store for you. Your support for Rodgers is commendable, but for your own sake better get in there and apologize, lie all you have to.

Women get so worked up about Favre's feelings on this issue. I blame Oprah.

Just got home from LAAAAAAAAAAMBEAU. BYYYYYYYYEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!! I'm reading the box score and I'm surprised by a few things. I didn't realize Rodgers went 18-22. It seems like AP ran for far more than 100 yards and lastly the 8 rushes for 35 yards by AROD also went semi-unnoticed by my crowd. Great f'n win. MN's got INDY on their plate and we get the lowly Lions. Nice two game cushion to start the year. alsdjfaskl byeah!

Actually a pretty sloppy game overall by the Pack, great to get a win and there is alot that needs improving by next week. Great thing Hawk and Grant came back because they were major contributors, disappointed in Jackson, my guess is Lumpkin will eventually move up the depth chart.

As far as Rodgers goes, this is exactly why I was happy about the move to get him in the starting line-up. I have liked his abilities for some time now, not going to get carried away based on one solid performance but I have always believed he has Tom Brady qualities to go with better athleticism. I greatly appreciate that I have been lucky enough to see Favre all these years but I am ready for a more cerebral style of QB.

One more thing:

Going back to all of our jeers at Allen/Williams for what they said. A great deal of credit needs to go to MM. How many times do you hear this team run its mouth? Not too often.

I never understood how coaches at any level could let their teams get away with it. Granted, this is the NFL and some of these guys actually have a right to a massive ego, but other than special occasions where you've been dogged in the media or something or you just really need to show some confidence, the quiet way is the way to go.

Belichick, Holmgren, Dungy, etc. make sure (for the most part) their guys keep their mouths shut.

Anybody who was at the game want to comment on this tidbit from the jsonline game blog?

The referee's mic was on as he chatted with Nick Barnett during the break. Something was said about the commissioner, and then referee Jeff Triplette said something about, "You need to get the (bleep) out of the way." Triplette then said to another official, "I think there's something wrong with the mic." Gee, you think?

I got it. I just didn't want to wear out the emoticons. And by "wear out," I mean "ever use."

But I got it.*

1. Good Win, but there is definitely room for improvement.

2. Rodgers was solid and if some of those plays didn't get called back, we'd be talking about how great he played.

3. I agree with Tirico, I hope the announcers don't compare ever thing Rodgers does to Favre all year. I expected Favre talk at the beginning of the game, which was fine, but in the 4th quarter it was too much.

4. MM should have tried for a TD at the end of the first half.

5. Brandon Jackson sucks, he looks like Bubba Franks getting tackled as soon as he touches the ball.

6. LBs tackled well, but they have to cover TEs and RBs better, particularly Hawk. He gave 5 yard cushions to TE and RBs.

7. I'm really glad we have MM and not Chilly, his play calling is awful. Too many runs in the first half and too many passes in the second.

8. Exciting game, I wish that Driver TD was not called back.

I saw an interview the other day with Nick Barnett saying that if he was allowed to do all the pregame trash talk he would have started doing it months ago against the Vikings. But he said that he knows as soon as he lets something like that slip now Winston Moss (Assistant Coach/Linebackers Coach) will be at his locker waiting to chew him out.

Thanks Man! Think I have a future as a NFL coach?

I also would have gone for the first down at the end of the game, but MM usually gets conservative at the end of games and lets the D win it, which they usually do such as last night and the Philly game last year.

Does anyone else see a 6'2" Barry Sanders in AD? I say that not necessarily because of their running style, but it seems to me that with Peterson he's either busting one for a big chunk of yards or he's stuffed. You're scared to death every time he touches the ball, but you're going to see a lot of drives fizzle because he isn't getting that three, four or five yards consistently. It's one yard, minus one yard, then it's 11 plus.

I have to say it was a very good game, and i also have a lot of crow to eat since I didn't think that we had a shot.

I felt Rodgers managed the game well, and I have to say that a couple more performances like this will definately have me singing a different tune!

I hope that the Pack work on our big play coverage by our corners since from my seat it looked like we could have been burned many time for big gains if the Vikes QB was at all good at getting the ball out, and in the right spots.
