Scouting the Cowboys

I see a big scoring game. They gotta pressure Romo and get big interceptions.

It will be interesting to watch Romo in this game with him comming home to Wisconsin and of course playing his first pro game in his home state.

As mentioned pressure on Romo will be a huge key to the game,biggest key to a Packers win in my opinion.

Based on watching Dallas quite a bit last season and the first 2 games this season if you told me to name a QB that would match up well vs the Cowboys defense I would actually say Aaron Rodgers or at least a QB in his mold.

I just think you need a QB who is patient & makes smart decisions and has an ability to use his legs to make plays and also avoid the pass rush.The Cowboys defense to me seems like one of those defenses that physically has a lot of raw talent and can look realy good if you play into their hands.But its a defense that doesnt have the brains or maybe just doesnt fit well together as a unit and that is something that can be exploited with a good game plan.

Aaron Rodgers at QB and coach Mccarthy both have the ability to exploit the weaknesses on the Dallas defense in my opinion.

But the key to the Packers winning sunday I think still comes down to our defense because even if Rodgers & CO exploit Dallas' weaknesses on defense their offense is still good enough to match us point for point if our D does not play well.

The pressure is definitely more on Dallas. They are the team most picked to win the NFC, although the expectations from the Packers have certainly risen after the last two games. The two teams we beat are 0-4. A win Sunday goes a long way to remind the "experts" that even with a QB change there is a hell of a lot of talent on this team.

There is easily more pressure on the Cowboys. They have been picked to at least play in the Superbowl by just about every football pundit there is. They have continued to spend money, they traded up for draft picks, and they even went out of their way to comment on the Favre situation that was none of their business. The Packers are picked to lose, and have a lot to gain by winning the game.

This is not to say that I expect the Packers to win, but the pressure is definitely in the Dallas corner.

traded up for draft picks? we traded up like 3 spots this year with one of our 1st rounders but have mainly traded down in our spots (hence the reason we had an extra draft pick this year) not to mention jerry traded back like 6 times in the 2nd day of the draft. and by the cowboys speaking about it you mean patrick crayton, and u say it like he was the only one saying anything. every team had something to say about it.

it's the 3rd week of the season, sure the pack may be picked to lose but not everyone is convinced w/aaron rodgers play (not that im one of them, i think u made the right move) so id say since you got this game at home and it could be considered rodgers 1st real test that makes the pressure on you guys to win. that's why i think there is more pressure for u to win or at least play good

hell i wouldnt be surprised by the cowboys having a bit of a let down after a short week and an emotionally draining win mentally and physically.

I don't think there's pressure on either team to win. It's the third game of the season, teams are still getting warmed up, a loss now isn't going to make or break anything down the road. I think there might be pressure on the Packers to keep it close though. If they're getting blown out at home, especially since expectations have been elevated after the first two weeks, and Rodgers is forced to make some bad passes who knows what the fans will do.

I think Dallas will throw all over our secondary and whether or not our offense does the same will determine if it's a game or not.

One loss can be the difference of home field in the playoffs.

Yup Wrau1,when you play a 16 game regular season every game is huge.

Hell even losing a damn tie breaker could be the difference between home field or being a wild card.Thats part of what makes the NFL great though.

A good example of this was in the 2000 season when the NY Giants earned homefield and the NFC's best record with a mark of 11-5 yet the Packers didnt even make the playoffs with a 9-7 record that year.With a mere 2 more wins the Packers woulda went from out of the playoffs to two wins at Lambeau away from the super bowl.
