See this is the thing, if you are a team owner who hasn't tasted success in ages like the Fords or Al Davis, why wouldn't you just throw some ridiculous contract offers to other successful GM's like TT or who ever the cowboys have for example?

Here's the perfect chance for Brett Favre to stick it to TT. Favre should retire again and become Detroit's new GM. He was always second-guessing TT's moves anyway; now he'd get to compete head-to-head against the Sizzler. Mano a mano, the greatest GM rivalry since, um ...ever!

Wayne Fontes was at least a 6-9 win guy....... :D

This is a classic Don Morton rule....it can get worse and it did with Millen.

well at least we can still enjoy this year. a new lions Gm will not be able to turn things around until the off season. watch out- the lions may be improved next year.

You guys think he'll end up on TV at some point this season? He wasn't bad at that.

Fox can put him on their bottom team with Vasgergian. Then he'd get to do Lions games every week.

Too bad. Hopefully whoever hired Millen is still in charge.

I'm sure he'll slip into oblivion for awhile and reemerge on tv next season or the year after. Like somebody said, he was a successful and fairly popular analyst back in the day.

Ol' Wayne Fontes reference, I like it, lol. He did take them to the playoff a few years, which the current regime can't say. I believe he had them to the NFC Championship in 1991 but got smashed by Washington.

Now who is the worst GM in sports? Davis doesn't count as he is an owner.

Al Davis controls all the moves the team makes , he may be owner in title but he controls everything , and he is so desperate to be relevant again that he makes the team look like such a joke
