Favre calls Romo, but not Rodgers

So what do we know?

Favre and Rodgers haven't talked since the retirement, and they didn't talk to each other at the ESPYs despite being a few feet from each other.

I wonder if there's anything to that.

This goes under the heading, Who Cares? But by all means if people want to rip Favre go ahead.

i think the press is trying to make this a bigger story than it is. favre hasn't called me in over 30 years. But do i complain? So how many times has Favre called Bart Starr in the past decade? twice? how many times has favre called peterson? or Ahman green? or for that matter bubba franks or Cole?

Favre did Romo no favors which is why I am sure Rodgers is glad he didn't call him. Brett sure hates the public eye doesn't he...... :uhoh:

I just loved the big smile on Rodger's face when he was asked the question...

But its not a big deal at all and favre shouldn't be bashed. However, I'm happy that we went from one hall of fame qb to a guy that should at the very least, be a top ten qb in the league every year for the next decade.

Go Packers!

I thought Favre didn't like the spotlight...

Oh wait. Nevermind.

How did the story come out anyway? Did Romo tell ESPN he got a call or did Favre tell ESPN that he called Romo?

So Favre called Romo and then called ESPN to let them know he called Romo?

So this is what must have happened for Favre to merit this criticism.

Of course I'm pretty sure it didn't. But hey, whatever for another chance to bash "Mr. Ego."

OMG OMG OMG

Who the F cares?

Seriously, this is effing stupid.

The only good that could come of this is Romo trying to play and injuring himself further.

For the record it was Romo who told the press that Favre called him. What the hell is the big deal?

In case anyone forgot, Favre is now a Jet. No reason to be obessively compulsive anymore.

Obviously Rodgers doesn't care, but I think it's really weird that they haven't talked since he retired. They worked together for three years and played the same position - you would think they'd want to at least say what's up and see what's going on.

Yeah, I really don't get it.

I'm surprised they aren't best friends.

It's not like they were fighting for the same job or anything. Or Favre was the reason Rodgers was sitting on the bench for the last three years. Or Rodgers was the reason that Favre couldn't reclaim the starting gig on a whim.

Yeah, I'm really surprised there is animosity there.

Who wants to be friends with the guy who took your job. Did anyone ask Favre if Rodgers called him. I'm guessing Rodgers has not called him. GASP!

Nobody expects them to be best friends.

Frankly, I really couldn't care less about the whole situation. It is curious that he would call Tony and not Rodgers.

Whatever.

That'd be something new then. It was always believed that Favre had issues with management, but not Rodgers. If there's animosity, it was never known before.

The two players just went through perhaps the biggest offseason drama in team history. If there wasn't animosity (as was previously thought), wouldn't it cross each other's minds to talk and clear the air? After all, Favre did say that he knew he would win the starting job, and there were lots of things that could be interpreted as slights to Rodgers. He single-handedly made Rodgers' offseason hell. Wouldn't someone with a non-contentious relationship with someone else talk to them and assure them that it's nothing personal, for example?

This piece of "news" isn't significant by itself, but it might suggest something that was not previously known.

so what's the over/under that favre has called Tt in the past 6 weeks?

I've got zero. Although i think his agent may have to ask for back pay, his locker and to set up that retirment ceremony next year.

I can just picture that future call.

hey TT, this is brett. i've decided to retire after this year, and i want to schedule that retirment ceremony we had planned for next year's first game.

CLICK.

hello, Tt, you still there? maybe i should call my buddy Aaron. hey bubba, do you have Aaron's number on you? What? you have never called Aaron either? maybe i'll call ESPN. they know every player's number.

hello, is John madden there?

CLICK .

Not all teammates are buddies, regardless of if they play the same position <shrug>
