Lippo's GB Mock Draft

We need another pass rusher, CB and OL can wait until round 2-4. With Johnson, Selvie, and Orakpo not being the pefrect fit for us in the 14-18 range I think we trade down a bit and pick up a late 2nd. Maybe we can sign Peppers as FA(x fingers). Also I know we need athletic OL, but we also need some tenacity and to become more physical at both of sides of the ball, this draft addresses that need.

1(GB): Trade down 10-15 spots. Maybe for 1(CAR) and 2(CAR) - They trade up to draft Peppers replacement.

1(CAR): DE Tyson Jackson, LSU Height: 6-5/292. Projected 40 Time: 4.83.
Richard Seymour type end that can help us in the running game as well as be a pass rusher.

2(GB): OG Herman Johnson, LSU SR 6-7/386.
LSU again, 2nd best guard inthe draft, and gives us some size to help move people in short yardage situations. Can play RT also.

2(NY for Favre): CB Darius Butler SR 5-11/185 Connecticut
Would make a great slot CB, fantastic quickness and ball skills. Also another return man.

2(CAR): RB C.J. Spiller JR 5-11/190 Clemson
We could use more big play ability out of our backfield., Jackson and Grant are not great 3rd down backs. Its a copy cat league and Spiller is this years Chris Johnson.

3(GB): DT, B.J. Raji SR 6-1/325 Boston College
Another big body with some explosiveness. Cole may be lost to FA.

4(GB): OT Alex Boone SR 6-8/312 Ohio State
A huge OT that can step in at RT once Tausher hangs it up. Hopefully Colledge can play LT next year after we cut Clifton lose.
alt.. OT Augustus Parrish 6-6/308 Kent State may fit our OL M.O. better

5(GB): SS Chip Vaughn SR 6-2/220 Wake Forest Projected 40 Time: 4.54
We have alot of depth at S, but have taking a flyer on a playmaker isnt a bad idea.

6(GB): P Kevin Huber SR 6-1/220 Cincinnati
Frost sucks, we need a Crosby at the P position.

6(NO): TE Anthony Hill SR 6-6/265 North Carolina State
Had ACL injury in 07 that hurt him, but has huge upside.

7(GB): DE Henry Melton SR 6-2/264 Texas Projected 40 Time: 4.68
Burried on the Texas depth chart, but with great measurables could make a great ST guy and maybe a project pass rusher.

Kind of hard to have a mock draft when we have no idea where we'll be picking.

I think it is hard to project 7 rounds without the season being over in the NCAA or NFL, and without combine numbers (as overrated as they may be).

I like Tyson Jackson. That big guard in the second round wouldn't fit into our run scheme though. That dude is a monster, my god.

I like Tyson Jackson a lot, too. I'd play him at DT in our scheme, though.
