Nobody can say that all their questions have been answered after one preseason game against a pretty bad Browns team, but I'm encouraged by almost everything I saw.
The offensive line looked very good, and it didn't look like Barbre had any problems on the right side. It seems to me that the real battle is Sitton vs. Wells, and which ever one wins will determine where Spitz plays. Both had very good games. Also, everybody talks about Jermichael Finley as a receiver, but to say that his improvement as a blocker is night and day from last season is an understatement. He was really getting after it as a run blocker. The running backs all looked pretty good. It might take Quinn Johnson a while to settle down and get the mental aspect, but that guy is a wrecking ball and definitely brings a dimension we lacked last season in the running game. Loved what I saw from the receivers. And again, it's the Browns, but the defense looked pretty darn good. I can't wait to see what it can do with Raji and Matthews in there.

Its definitely a big year for Hawk. If he can't become a playmaker in a defense like this then I don't know where he could become one. There are going to be plenty of opportunities for him to make big stops in the running game and he needs to make the most of it.
Someone who I hadn't seen mentioned yet is Pickett. He held the point extremely well last night, and he also had a couple plays where he demolished the guy trying to block him. There were two plays in particular where he drove the center backwards about 3 yards right after the snap which disrupted the blocking for the running plays that were called. He didn't get any tackles, but he did what a NT needs to do.

Looking forward to Woodson getting on the field. He'll be making plays left and right with this D.

I think that Brohm really got the short end. Due to some really terrible LT and WR play, he was hosed. His passes to Swain were right on the money, and if that kid had some hands then Brohm looks like a star. I think that it has to be easy to look good with Jordy Nelson and James Jones against Browns backups.
I think that they need to give Brohm some reps with the 2nd team offense. Flynn's arm looks like a noodle, and he holds the ball for a long time.
Sutton looks like he is a shoe in to be our Noah Herron this year.

Yeah, Brohm wasn't as awful as some people are claiming, but he wasn't great either. Anyone who thinks we should cut him at this point was saying the same thing about Aaron Rodgers in his second preseason. How good would that look now?

Grant didnt look all that great to me. Looks like he lost his vision and runs into alot of walls. But now Sutton looked really good. Lumpkin looked blah until he had that nice spin move and got down the field for 14 yards. But up until that point didnt look all that good either. I personally wished we had a 4th qb to push Brohm and Flynn out the door. They both are garbage. I wouldnt bet my life they could win a game if Rodgers was out.

Anyone banging on Brohm's performance or is considering an outside option as our 2nd or 3rd string QB hasn't watched the caliber of NFL QB's this preseason. Most teams are lucky if they have even one reliable QB. I've seen so many absolutely dreadful performances thus far...
Point is the grass isn't greener. Matt Flynn looked better than more than a few starters. Brian Brohm wasn't good but he threw a couple really nice balls. I agree with B2TW that it would be good to see him throwing to some guys that will actually play this season and be given a shot behind quality blockers.

Flynn and Brohm both looked better than Derrick Anderson and that awful dude that they brought in after him, IMO.

I really don't understand the hate for Flynn at this point. To me, it looked as if he improved dramatically from last season. We always knew he could make plays and keep plays alive with his feet, but this year his spiral looks much tighter, and he seems to have much more confidence and composure in the pocket. He has some Jeff Garcia traits.
If Rodgers goes down, our offense will obviously take a step back, but I would feel comfortable that Flynn could at least keep us in some games.

Yeah, I was actually impressed with Flynn on Saturday. We'll see how long that lasts though.
