Heard the same thing. Can't remember from who. Maybe Larrivee on WTMJ?

Hopefully that Martin guy from Baltimore is as good as advertised. He did learn from the best in the business in Ed Reed, so I'm hopeful.

I guess Crosby's injury was something that acted up while he was lifting weights. He's a kicker, wtf is he doing near weights?

Don't know why, but Jay Feely was always ripped so it's not unheard of for kickers to lift weights.

Sebastian Janikowski comes to mind as another kicker who is a big dude, although he might be more beer gut than muscle. I don't think being a kicker should exempt one from being in shape, or even getting stronger. Proper training can actually reduce the risk of injury.

Smith should have not been cut, he looked very solid in preseason. Also no need for 3 FBs and thats a joke on its own.

But by final cuts, he was the only option. They surprisingly released bargain free agent Anthony Smith because of poor special teams play and concern about a chronic groin injury and assignment consistency

Apparently that is why Smith was cut. I was unaware of the 'chronic groin injury', I assume he wasn't good at being a consistent player because that is why the Steelers released him and if you are a back-up, you better be able to play special teams.

The Packers put an emphasis on special teams and I am glad that they did... In my opinion, it already helped big time in the first game.

Rouse just needs to blow somebody up early in the game so that nobody wants to go over the middle again the rest of the game. Maybe he can "cover" them if they have alligator arms?

I know, it was more the principle of the matter.

Saw this on another board. I think it was very smart to drop some weight since agility has been a huge issue so far in the NFL for Rouse. He's still plenty big for the position.

To prepare for the change to the 3-4, Rouse dropped weight in the offseason to improve his speed and agility. In his first two NFL seasons, he weighed between 225 and 230 pounds, but he came to camp less bulked up in the upper body and weighing about 215 pounds.
