Of those 42 plays, Capers rushed three players four times, four players 23 times, five players 12 times and six players twice. That means Capers sent at least one extra rusher on 14 of the 41 snaps, or 34 percent of the time. That’s hardly blitz crazy.
But what stands out is who did the rushing. Cornerback Charles Woodson and safety Atari Bigby rushed four times each; cornerbacks Al Harris and Tramon Williams, and safety Nick Collins, twice each. At inside linebacker, Brandon Chillar rushed 15 times; Nick Barnett four times; and A.J. Hawk three times.

One of the keys to the 34 is confusion so these numbers do not surprise me. It wouldn't surprise if the numbers flipped as far as secondary versus Lb rushes against the bengals.
Do it for Chuck

Re: Good breakdown of our D against the Bears
Interesting discussion with McCarthy from Wolfleys column:
Fox Sports game analyst Brian Billick has a weekly show this season streaming on FoxSports.com during which he will interview NFL coaches about, well, coaching.
"Coach Speak with Brian Billick," which debuted Tuesday afternoon, is to include Packers coach Mike McCarthy on some weeks. Billick interviewed McCarthy after Green Bay beat Chicago.
Billick observed that all the talk about switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4 defense "is much ado about nothing" because a pure 3-4 is used only 20% of the time in the system.
McCarthy agreed.
"As you know, there are no absolutes in this business," McCarthy said. "You can't do just one thing. It's going to catch up to you. If you are a 3-4 defense, you are going to have 4-3 characteristics."
Billick asked McCarthy how he will interact with defensive coordinator Dom Capers as they prepare for an opponent.
"Being an offensive play-caller, once you get in-season, the majority of my time is on offense," McCarthy said.
McCarthy said he and Capers watched game film Sunday night and would do more Monday morning.
"When we do break up with the players, I go with the offense and he is in total control of the defense," McCarthy said.
"I'm big on one-on-one (meetings)," McCarthy said. "We don't have a set meeting every week for him to discuss game-planning. I will have some time with him on Monday night or a Tuesday morning because I also have to move on and do my particular game planning."

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Not sure if this was read in the MJS, but they also did a story about the D.

Crazy. What a difference from simply hoping/praying the front 4 can create pressure.

Not once, even after penalties, did the Packers send the same players at Cutler on back-to-back plays. That's on 40 drop-backs, which includes infractions and tosses out one pass against a goal-line defense.
On those 40 opportunities for pressure, the Packers brought 35 combinations of players.
Only three combinations were used more than once, on a total of eight plays: Cullen Jenkins, Johnny Jolly, Ryan Pickett and Aaron Kampman (three times); Jenkins, Jolly, Kampman and Clay Matthews (three); and Jenkins, Jolly, Matthews, Brandon Chillar and Al Harris.

I expect our defense to get plenty of pressure on Palmer... Last I heard the Bengals offensive line is horrendous.
