Packers cornerback Al Harris' illegal contact penalty should not have been a penalty at all, according to the NFL.

Mike Pereira, vice president of officiating, exonerated Harris for a penalty that kept alive Chicago's go-ahead drive late in the fourth quarter, saying that Harris was within the 5-yard bump zone when he made contact with receiver DevinHester at the Chicago 45.

"We don't want this for illegal contact, period, because it's at 5 yards," Pereira said in the NFL's weekly official review. "That contact, which is pretty easy to recognize in terms of the ball being snapped at the 40, he can make that contact at 5 yards and that's still legal.

"Sometimes it's tough for that official to make that call 20 yards downfield, but that's too technical to call."

It's insane for an official 20 yards down the field to call that.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

What are the chances the referee even makes that call if Hester doesn't throw his arms up in the air?

A referee should actually have to see and be 100% sure of the penalty before it's actually called.

Yeah it was one of those calls where I was like, aren't we playing in Lambeau? It was like a blatant makeup call except there wasn't a bad call to make up for. It was especially irritating after the debatable holding call on Spitz.

Not sure if this was posted but a great write up of the game I found on another forum.

RT was brutal. I hate seeing Rodgers hit that much. Hopefully Barbre can settle down. I expect Beno will be active for this game so Pack has options just in case. But if Barbre can't cut it, there's nuthin to say Beno or Lang can either. Barbre beat out Beno. Pack sees Lang as better at G. If Barbre & Beno & Lang don't cut it against Bengals, I put out our 5 best OL.

I know Pack has said it does not want to shift Oline around and I understand and agree but our best OL is what I called for since the draft

Clifton - Spitz - Wells - Sitton - Colledge

That's what they should have committed to from day 1.

Lang is good backup at G, Smith backup at C.

Barbre & Beno need another year as backups - then compete with draft pick next year for LT considering Clifton probably won't be back next year. We need to solidify at least one tackle spot this year.
