I also thought the overall tone came off as, "Here's why you sucked this year and I know more than you". The response to Lang at LT for example.

But whatever. And people wonder why Thompson doesn't give good interviews.

+1

Agreed.

I didn't have a problem with the topics he was asking him about, but like DB said, it did come across with a very "I know more than you" attitude. The questions about the O-line especially. I thought he could have been a lot more professional in the way he asked the questions, but I am glad he didn't just lob him a bunch of softballs.

The topics and line of questioning aren't the problem. It's how Bedard asks them. He comes across as a holy-than-thou ****.

Bedard took a combatative tone with the entire interview, almost sounded like a disgruntled fantasy football owner....A better interviewer would have been less combatative and more creative, although Ted's guard is almost always up.....will be interested to see how Bedard is treated by the likes of breno and Hawk in the lockerroom, if they get word on how he basically called them out.

But the stuff Bedard brought up (offensive line, Hawk, Smith, Lee, Crosby, defense in the AZ game, etc...) are the same things we have talked about a lot on this board.

Yea, why do they even bother doing these type of interviews with Thompson? Everyone already knows that Ted never gives answers to anything except very bland general answers, so what's the point? Some GM's or coaches are candid and thus are worth having interviews like this with, but for closed guys like Ted, it's an utter waste of time.

Agreed. But I prefer real questions to polite nothings. IF the questions were irrelevant than I'd fault Bedard but they were totally relevant. Since TT never says anything maybe Greg thot he'd try a different tactic. Hey TT is doing good but he's not above questions especially about OL and Smith. Smith was a clear screw up. TT lacks the candor to just admit it.
The way the team handled Lang & Meredith in preseason were screw ups.

Both Hawk and Breno are vulnerable to being called out ALMOST as much as Bush.
Hawk blows and is healthy D's worst starter (maybe ties Bigby)

Breno after 2yrs = 0 actives. Can't believe Pack flirting w/ not resigning Tausch on the hope this kid is ready. Maybe he will be but you don't count on it. He's more likely Barbre part II.

I don't see all that much TT has to gain by answering most questions. If he does his job well, most Packer fans will really like him (even more if not for the BrINT fiasco), if he doesn't he'll get fired. Interviews like this are irrelevant.

I pretty much agree

Some GM's will answer questions like Wolf generally would and some won't like how Ted operates. I forget how Sherman handled these question and answer interviews. Either way, i don't care much how the GM handles interviews so long as we win. I just don't see the point though of interviewing Thompson because they all end up exactly the same way, him saying nothing. He's not changing in that regard.
