I don't see how the Vikings adding Jackson benefits the Packers at all?
While the Packers should be good for awhile given we have Rodgers and other quality young players, various different things can happen to derail a season in the future. The Packers have a legit chance to get to the Super Bowl this year and the Vikings adding Jackson certainly wouldn't help those chances. He's a young, big, and very talented receiver. Jackson isn't a Berrian type of one trick pony wide receiver. If the Queens added Jackson and when Rice comes back, a WR core of Jackson, Rice, Harvin, Berrian, and Shiancoe would be absolutely loaded to go along with Peterson. If Brett was playing well, they'd be very dangerous if they got into the playoffs.
Yea Favre likely will be in his last season, but Vincent Jackson should be good for at least another five years. If they got him for a 2nd or 3rd round pick, they are getting a still young Pro Bowl level proven talent for that pick. Granted, they also would have to pay him a lot of money, but i don't see that putting them in some big cap bind.
Vincent Jackson ending up anywhere but Minnesota is in the best interest of the Packers.
