Packers Unveiling New Jerseys on Friday

The players seemed to like them. Several of them said they wanted to go to the Packers Hall of Fame to learn more about the 1929 team jersey they're wearing.

"I like the circle around my number; it pops out. If you want to intimidate someone, all you’ve got to do is hit your chest. It’s good, I like it a lot," said linebacker Brad Jones. He modeled the new uniforms with Nick Collins and Jordy Nelson on stage at the Atrium.

"Most people (other Packers teammates) were backstage when we modeled them and everybody seemed to like them, everyone seemed to like them a lot. Got a bunch of laughs for the thigh pads, because nobody really wears thigh pads."

Many people thought the uniforms almost looked like Notre Dame's.

"I was told that when Curly (Lambeau) came from Notre Dame he brought this style. One of the players thought it was similar to Notre Dame as well," said Nelson. "It's definitely weird not having any green and gold. ... I heard some people talking about what they heard these were going to look like. And they said these were a lot better that one of the other possibilities. They're not bad. They're just so far from the normal green and gold that we wear.

"I think it shocked a lot of people. When we walked out on the stage, I think people were shocked; it was pretty quiet at first. I think a lot of people didn't know. You think 'throwback,' people think that was 30, 40 years ago. We went all the way back to the '20s, maybe further back than people expected."

Could we change the thread to New "Alt" Jerseys. I didn't see that these were for like only a game or two until after I saw them and was flipping out. For like one or two games for like one season it won't be aweful and then they'll probably disappear for another 80-90 years, no biggy.

As for the uniforms, they are pretty ugly, but once a game starts, i won't give a crap what the uniforms look like.

Not a huge fan of the uniforms. I don't really like those yellow ones they sell, but would've preferred that. Although not that much different, but my choice would've been the mid-80's unis with the 'G' on the sleeves and the number on the pants.

I know a lot of you guys hated this jersey, but while I was up in Lambeau this weekend I saw one for sale and IMMEDIATELY bought it. I thought it looked sweet as hell. The one I ended up getting was the authentic version, which was a lot better than the replica. I'm not a big jersey guy. Actually I don't have any jersey's of any sports teams anymore. However, this one I just had to buy.

I like them. The style isn't the greatest, but I like the colors better than the normal unis. Are they planning on wearing them sometime this year? I think the Bears are wearing their alternates on Mon.
