Nelson needs more playing time, and I reallythink adding Deangelo Williams fixes everything and makes this team legit again. But with our luck Packers will get Williams and first play he plays he'll tear a ligament or somtehing.

Ill say it over and over get Deagelo Williams now. Wasn't the news a few weeks ago that the Panthers would trade Williams if they lost a few more games in a row?

Sure, losing Finley alone doesn't break the season, but we've lost a ton aside from him. IMO, he's the tipping point, and he's not just any tight end, either. He's our #1 receiver. And we still know very little about the depth at tight end other than that Quarless is incredibly athletic and Crabtree is a good blocker. Quarless made some nice catches this last game but he alligator-armed one in the end zone the week before - something that is unacceptable and Finley would never have done.

Deangelo Williams is good enough, though, that I'd believe we have a fighting chance of getting to the Super Bowl again with him. As things currently stand, I still expect the Packers to at least get a Wild Card spot, but my hopes of getting to the Super Bowl are all but gone.

I'd love to have Williams too for this year and beyond. But wasn't it posted that the Panthers have no interest in trading him and on a side note what are the odds that TT will even try to get him?

Bump for James Davis getting waived by the Browns.

Davis was a healthy scratch in Week 7. The 2009 sixth-round pick impressed during his rookie-year preseason, but has been injury prone and ineffective since. He managed just nine yards on four carries in his lone appearance as a ball carrier this season. Still, Davis might not pass through waivers with plenty of teams (Green Bay?) in need of young running back prospects.

Would he really be any upgrade over Kuhn or Jackson?

Absolutely. He's a dynamic threat when healthy (the problem). But at this point, the Packers have invested a number of weeks in teaching Nance the system and will have a decision to make with Starks in two weeks. Considering that plus the fact that Jackson has looked much better of late, I doubt the Packers want to clear a roster spot for an injury-prone back.
