Those poor special teams have manifested themselves in the close losses IMO.
Go back to the year we won the Super Bowl. We had the #1 offense and #1 ranked defense. And arguably our special teams and Desmond Howard were what sealed the deal that year from week two against the Chargers to the Super Bowl. Even with the best O and best D, we still needed those special teams.
Sums it up for me.
I give somewhat of a pass this year because of injuries, but building through the draft in theory should have filtered down to special teams by now.
I live in DC and it puts me on tilt to see Brandon Banks, an undrafted free agent from K-State, KILLING IT for the Redskins on punt and kick returns, when year after year, including this one, we're in the 20's in return rank.
Wont even talk about the coverage and the punter debacle of a few years back...
