Harbaugh is not going to Minnesota. Don't kid yourself.
EDIT: And that is no offense to them really. But he's not going to go to a reclamation project again.

If you look at my post I was listing him as one of a group of coaches with Big Ten ties that would prefer to wait for a better Big Ten job like PSU or Michigan. I have never thought we had a chance at Harbaugh, in fact I'm starting to think no college has a chance at him. Seems like the most likely scenario that causes him to leave is for a big NFL job.

Sounds like Gruden to Miami is about done. That will be a fun team to follow, I bet Gruden will be a great college coach.

I'm hoping Mullen is more interested in Minnesota now that Miami has found their man.

From ESPN:
Poor Gophers
The Minnesota job hunt has been going on for a while. Add former Miami coach Randy Shannon's name to the mix. I spoke with Shannon on Tuesday, and he's interested. He said he would love to stay in college coaching because "you can make a difference in young people's lives."
I spoke to another coach about the Gophers job, which reportedly has not been well-received by some coaching targets. The school had a bold list of candidates it was interested in. The problem is with a lame-duck athletic director and an unstable power structure, the lack of job stability scares some folks. Yes, it's a Big Ten school and has a great new stadium, but the kind of deal the school has been willing to dangle, according to sources, isn't going to be enough.
"They need to be offering a minimum of six years," the coach said. "Who is going to take that job because you just don't know what will happen in two years when your new boss could walk in and say, 'We don't like this guy,' and then you're stuck? Most of these coaches that are on their list have more stability and better chances to win where they're at. Yeah, it's a Big Ten school, but it's not Michigan or Ohio State."

For anyone that's interested, here is the latest Minnesota coaching rumors. I'm still pulling for Mullen, his demands are not far off of what Maturi said the school could spend.

While not having WikiLeaks on our side -- they're slightly busy at the moment -- here's the latest on the Gophers' coaching search.
• Athletic director Joel Maturi told a couple of people that he was in Omaha in the last five days to meet with former Boston College coach Jeff Jagodzinski. He's the current head coach of the Omaha Nighthawks in the United Football League. With Maturi not at Williams Arena on Monday night, it makes sense that he was out of town. Omaha was the likely location.
• I spoke with Minnesota president Bob Bruininks on Monday at the Barn. He said that a hire would be done "soon" -- and that he is "happy with the pool of candidates... it's solid." Maturi also told some individuals last week the hire would come within the next 14 days, if not sooner.
• Maturi and consultant Dave Mona were in San Diego to meet with San Diego State coach Brady Hoke two weeks ago. Hoke's agent, Trace Armstrong, has spoken with the "U." Unlike Rivals' Tom Dienhart, who said that Hoke was out, he's always been in. The tough question to figure out: is he genuinely interested in the Minnesota job, or does he just want more money in San Diego?
• We have not heard that Air Force's Troy Calhoun and Temple's Al Golden have said no.
• Former Miami (Fla.) coach Randy Shannon called a friend here five weeks ago, asking if they would have interest in him. Shannon has consultant Tony Dungy on his side.
• Dungy is also pushing for St. Louis Park native Marc Trestman.
• Houston's Kevin Sumlin has interest in the job but hasn't been interviewed in person.
• Mississippi State's Dan Mullen is willing to come for a package totaling $25 million over five years. The $5 million per year would be divided between him and his staff.
• Most coaches want a say on the next AD -- Maturi's contract expires in June 2012 -- and are curious about what new president Eric Kaler is all about.
• Basketball coach Tubby Smith is pushing for former Tennessee coach Phil Fulmer.
• Connecticut's Randy Edsall is still worth keeping an eye on.
• In spite of a public statement to the contrary, former Oregon coach Mike Bellotti does have interest.
