The general health of the Green Bay Packers took a giant step forward Thursday with the return of several prominent players to the practice field.
CB Charles Woodson, who injured his ankle in practice Wednesday, was back on the field taking part in the jog-through. He actually did more than just stand at his position as injured players will sometimes do. He jogged around the field at a decent pace without any problems.
He did not stick around for the full-pads workout.
LT Chad Clifton, who was very limited Wednesday because of a concussion and soreness in both knees, was back at practice in full pads. He took part in the jog-through and stuck around afterwards, which is a sign he was going to take part in the regular practice.
He did not take part in the only full-team drill the team conducted during the periods the media is allowed to watch, but given he was in pads, it's likely he took part in some team activity. The very fact he was out there means he passed a test from an independent neurologist.
Finally, S Atari Bigby made his return from a hamstring injury he suffered at Minnesota Nov. 21. He had not practiced in any form over the past three weeks until Thursday. He was in full pads and appeared ready to take part in everything.
Also:
DE Cullen Jenkins (calf) and FB Korey Hall (knee) were out.
S Anthony Smith (ankle) still hasn't been cleared to practice.
LB Clay Matthews (shin) sat out practice as he normally does on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
CB Pat Lee (ankle) did not practice.
DE Ryan Pickett (ankle) was in pads and appeared to be full-go.
I'll update with coach Mike McCarthy's comments after practice.
And from the Lions:
The Detroit Lions announced today that Sunday’s game vs. the Green Bay Packers has reached a sellout and will air live in the local television markets (Metro Detroit, Lansing, Saginaw/Flint and Toledo), including WJBK-TV FOX 2.
Sunday’s game vs. the Packers will mark the sixth home sellout by the club in its first seven home games this season, and it is the most sellouts by the team since the 2007 season when all eight games were sold out.

This is good news. Woodson would probably have to break his ankle to miss an away game against Detroit.

Re: Week 14 lead-up: Lions/Wed: Woodson Sprains Ankle
Cornerback Charles Woodson (ankle, toe) and LT Chad Clifton (concussion, knees) both went through some part of practice Friday and are expected to play against the Detroit Lions Sunday.
The two are among eight players who are listed as probable.
Woodson injured his ankle in practice on Wednesday and only took part in the jog-through Thursday. The injury didn't get worse and he was able to go through the jog-through again on Friday.
Coach Mike McCarthy said he was "optimistic" that Woodson would be able to play.
Clifton was not cleared to practice in full until Thursday. He took part in the full-pads drill and apparently did not suffer any kind of setback. McCarthy said he thought Clifton would be ready for Sunday.
As for the rest of the injury report:
Wide receiver Jordy Nelson (ankle) sat out practice because of a recurring problem, but McCarthy said he anticipated Nelson playing Sunday. Nelson is probable.
DE Cullen Jenkins (calf), FB Korey Hall (knee) and CB Pat Lee (ankle) are out.
S Atari Bigby (hamstring) was a full participant in practice, but was listed as questionable.
S Anthony Smith (ankle) returned to practice for the first time since getting hurt at Minnesota. He was a limited participant and is listed as questionable.
Other probables are: S Nick Collins (shoulder), WR Donald Driver (thigh), LB Clay Matthews (shin), DE Ryan Pickett (ankle) and WR Brett Swain (knee).
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Bigby and Smith need to be back next week for sure.
