Re: Who do you want in the Draft?
I think it may be time to go back to drafting at least 2 o-lineman very high, a tackle will be a priority, because Clifton played very well for awhile, but is starting to sputter pretty bad toward the end. I think many of us always blamed the poor rushing game on the RB's, but it is pretty obvious to see the overall lack of rumming lanes. Rodgers has also made this o-line look much better than they really are.

Who do you like this year lineman-wise? I know you had mentioned before that you thought Carimi is a bust waiting to happen, so I am just curious.

I'm starting to fear that we'll be picking #20 after all. The good news is the talent at #20 isn't a ton different than what you'll see at #10. My hope is one of Kerrigan, Ayers or Miller are there, but I'm skeptical. Justin Newton will probably be around and he's been great. Carimi might be a reach but I think you could pencil him in as a long term RT. Right now I think he'd be a great option. Mark Ingrim is my sleeper.

I agree
While OLB is still a huge need, something needs to be done so that the Packers OL is a more physical unit. That group absolutely got their assses whipped today all across the line, even on multiple downs where Detroit only rushed 4 and McCarthy went max protect with both a back and TE to help in protection.
We've also seen the OL struggle to run block most of the year and Rodgers mobility has bailed out the line on numerous occasions this year. Hell, Rodgers said it himself when the announcers today mentioned that in talking with Aaron about potential bad weather games going forward to finish the year, was he worried if weather would hurt the offense? Rodgers told them yea it was a concern because of how finesse the offense is and that starts up front.
Hopefully whoever is the starting OL next year, the physical nature of the group is upgraded. With the season potentially on the line today, we can't have an OL that gets humiliated in every facet as happened. That was a trainwreck up front.

Speaking of the draft, while our OL got their butts whipped all over the place, wow did the Lions hit the lottery last year with Suh.
I understand why the Rams took Bradford and it was the right call given the incredible importance of quarterbacks in today's NFL, but Suh is an absolute beast. He's only a rookie and you could argue that he's already the best defensive player in the league.

I don't look much at the draft until it gets to be that time of the year, I think Carimi is more of a RT than left, maybe a second or third rounder.....I have heard it is a weak draft for everything except DL and WR, so we will have to see what shakes out.

With Spitz looking no better than College - i can't see resigning either. Where-ever coaches decide Lang plays - LG or RT -we draft the other in 2nd. Take another OL in 4th or 5th.
