Tweeted this before, but want to hit it again, Butler felt strongly: "Deep down inside, I think Brett's thrilled by Aaron Rodgers' success."

Doubt it. Goes against what he's told me.

I just read this thread again and cried laughing.

For those bored during the offseason, I suggest you read it again.

I'm going to contact the board admin again, and see if I can register.

GrendonJennings wrote:Hello,

I just want to let you all know how BRETT FAVRE touched my young daughter's life and mine in the process. Two years ago, during the time he was with the Jets, my daughter's friend TEXTED her some horrible news about her father (my daughter looked up to her friend's dad as her own, as her own father died when she was 2)...he had died in a horrible car accident. Even worse was HIS funeral. It was one of the worst days of both of our lives. Her friend's father, was also a SMALL part in my life, though I wished I had known him better. The worst part was that if the impact of debris into his chest was about a THREE INCH distance to the outside, he may still be alive.

The funeral was on a Saturday, with the Jets playing the Titans in a big game the following day. My daughter had looked up to Brett as another father figure, making sure to tune in every Sunday. On the way to the funeral in the car, I read a quote that DICK Ebersol, head of NBC Sports, on the day of Irv's death to her about Brett. "Brett was a man that gave it all and loved his father. If it wasn't for his father, Brett wouldn't be where he is. What a perfect match it was."

After the funeral, we arrived home in our sobbing state still, there was a package at the door. A response to our letter of support for Brett in his move to the Jets had come back. It was some kind of sign from above. HE REALLY was really looking out for us! It is truly great how much Brett LOVES his fans!

The next day, when watching the Brett THROWING missiles and the Jets defense make one BACK-BREAKING play after another on the Titans, it reminded of how the Packer receivers helped Brett out after his loss of Irv. It seemed every ball he was throwing was caught...they were even snagging INTERCEPTIONS from the Raiders and turning them into big plays. It was unfortunate that the Jets eventually did not get into or make any noise IN THE PLAYOFFS, but it really hit us in a special spot as if the Jets were stepping up their game for Carl, our family friend that had passed away AND it meant a lot to us. It still CHOKES me up to think about it and I've run it over-and-over again IN my dreams. Of all of Brett's BIG GAMES, this one may have taken the cake for us!

Favre fan 4 life!

Still pure gold.

So funny.

I remember several of the replies said something like, "Great story, thanks for sharing." and, "Brett is truly one of a kind!"
