Badgers/UNLV Open 2011 Thursday Night ESPN

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Mon Mar 28, 2011 3:28 am

Wisconsin appears poised to open the 2011 football season with a Thursday night game on ESPN.

UW is scheduled to play Nevada-Las Vegas on Sept. 3 at Camp Randall Stadium but officials from both schools have agreed to move the game to Sept. 1.

The Las Vegas Sun reported the likely move on its web site. A UW official declined comment Sunday but a source confirmed both schools had agreed to the move.

UW's second game is set for Sept. 10 against visiting Oregon State.

The Badgers opened the 2010 season with a 41-21 victory at UNLV.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Sick. Wish I was still around Madison, a Thursday night game would bring out the best. Oh wait, so did a game at any time on Saturday.

Still, night games are ridiculous. I doubt I'd be sober for my Thursday classes at this one.

Granted, this may be the day before school starts or a few days before it starts?

I also like the extra time to prepare for Oregon State.

I believe classes start the next Tuesday, after Labor Day. Night games at Camp Randall are always extra fun.

I think this game is just going to be an absolute mess. Fans all coming to the Camp while everyone is still at work. Traffic and parking is going to be a freaking nightmare.

It is kind of cool though that the Badgers start the NCAA season in Madison and the following Thursday (hopefully) the Packers will most likely open the NFL season in Green Bay.

Just heard on the radio that the Big Ten opener vs Nebraska is going to be a night game too. That's going to be pretty sick, definitely going to have to make the trip back to Madison for that one.

Yeah I'd love to be at that Nebraska game.
