Ryan: Jets would have beaten Packers in XLV

Post#1 » by Reddeye » Sun May 1, 2011 2:32 pm

"I just watched the Super Bowl (XLV) at home," Ryan writes. "I’m only going to the Super Bowl if my dad (Buddy) or my brother (Rob) is in it. It’s too painful. We don’t even do a party at the house. I thought Green Bay was to going to have the upper hand on Pittsburgh. Their passing attack was giving everyone problems. But I truly believe we would have beaten Green Bay. We only lost to them 9-0 during the season, and we gave them two of the field goals because of mistakes."

Have no problem with him saying that. If he were our coach, I'd want him to say the same thing.

We hardly played a flawless game, either.

Daddy's on the road again and little Rexy needs attention.

I like the confidence also, but he is basing it off a game where they got shutout at home. The Packers were coming off an emotional game against MN and the Jets were coming off a bye week.

Not surprising. Rex, talk when you score a point against us.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Didn't we also give a ton of PT to Howard Green that game? After signing him a few days earlier.

He keeps writing checks with his mouth that he can't cash, if he doesn't win a Super Bowl in the next year or two he is going to be on the hot seat.

There's a difference between being confident and being a douche. Mike McCarthy is confident, Rex Ryan is a douche.

We had a ton of injuries leading up to that game. Walden also signed off the street that week and played extensively. We didn't have enough healthy DL to practice properly because Green got to GB so late.

meh. I thought he was going to come off way more arrogant before i opened the thread. I don't have an issue with what he said. Having said that, we would have won for sure. We were on too much of a roll to get beat.

We got shut out by them, at home, coming off a bye week, while they weren't playing their best ball....but yeah man, neutral field while they are rolling, we'd totally beat them man. STFU GTFO

I was so glad when the Steelers beat them just for the fact that i would have to listen to / read about his dumbass for two weeks leading up to the superbowl. I am sure i'd love him if he were my coach, but i dislike him otherwise.

When you are coaching a New York team, you have to show this kind of unfounded bravado or the fan base becomes negative very quickly when they aren't seeing true results. He has a big mouth, and he is going to flap his gums if he thinks that his fan base will enjoy it. I think that he should stop writing checks his *** can't cash.
