I've seen reports for weeks of various groups of players getting together and working out. This morning I saw Sitton went to Madison to work out with Flynn and some others.

NOT Worried

I trust the character and professionalism of our entire organization - FO, Coaches, players - to do the right thing as they see it.

Not worried.

Our coaches are damn good at what they do and while organized workouts could be good for bonding its not like they can practice any sort of plays or sets on the field. In fact if they were practicing with bad habits(particularly big for any college kid who might need to be coached up more than the others) they could only hurt themselves.

I think if they want to get together to lift weights and train and such its fine but organized team wide workouts are overrated.

Like also mentioned in this thread players have been working out together, I know a bunch have been working out together at some place in GB, the OL went down to Tennessee I think it was and today there were some guys at UW Madison. They will be fine as long as this lockouts ends and our coaches can get in and do their thing.

Super Bowl Champs. Very little turnover with both roster and coaching staff. We are probably the team least affected by the lockout.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I watched some footage of the Saints' players working out together and it looked like a local fitness club boot camp class at about 50% speed. Whoopty sh*t.

Yeah, I question how intense these workouts are without coaches pushing players. There aren't any coaches for the young/2nd stringers to impress to get more playing time. I think it's more about getting some good press with the fans during the lock out. Every fan likes to hear their favorite team's QB is leading the entire team through informal work outs.

Jennings said yesterday he thinks it's better not having the informal workouts. He said virtually every player has their own personal trainer and stay in shape that way better than doing it informally.

I can understand if you have guys who haven't played together much or who are learning a new offense/defense. In our case everything will be the same next season. As long as they are in decent shape we'll be fine. As far as "bringing a team closer together" I think a Super Bowl win does that just fine.

I'm sure EVERY training camp injury for EVERY player on EVERY team will be blamed on the lockout

I honestly prefer they don't get together for some unorganized crappy workout without our trainers on hand.

It's the least they can do to level the playing field.

I'm worried they're having too much fun.

I don't really think it's a big deal for the vets. I also think it's good for the injured players to have more time to recuperate and rejuvenate. But, I also worry about the rookies and second year players. Offseason workouts are important to catch up and develop, especially if you're expected to step up and be a contributor.

Then again, I'm not sure if player-organized workouts will really accomplish that. I wish that the coaches could keep tabs on some of these guys, though. Or even better...that this lockout would be lifted.

Not worried.

Only big detriment would be to the rookies but that is true for every team in the league.

Doubt many of these workouts are at a high intensity and as Jennings said, most every player has a personal trainer for getting stronger/in shape.

Not worried.

Just hope that the injured guys get healthy.
