OT - I met Peter King

Post#1 » by Wilford Brimley » Wed Sep 7, 2011 1:39 am

Peter King came to talk at Marquette today so I went.

Awesome guy. Knew a lot of stories about obscure players (all of whom I knew, but I suspect the comm girls did not). Really nice guy, too.

That is all.

I was going to go to that but ultimately wasn't able to. I'm assuming it was worthwhile then? How many people showed up for it? I wanted to go see Chris Brossard last spring too but couldn't go.

I'd say about 120 people, a lot were girls there as a requirement for class, so I suspect they had no idea what or whom he was talking about.

He had good things to say about Michael Vick and Favre, as he got to know both at a personal level. Arian Foster and Randy Moss, too.

I don't always agree with King but he's a hell of a smart guy and works his ass off covering the NFL. I would have loved to have met him. Great for you.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Peter King is one of my favorites, whether I agree with him or not as MD points out. That's sweet.

King was my adjunct advisor in college when I was doing my senior thesis on the USFL, a fellow Ohio University Bobcat. He helped me get some doors open, pointed me to the right people at the HOF. Very smart guy, very big and knowledgable baseball fan too.

If you read King for info, keep in mind he has amazing connections with some teams (AFC East, AFC North, ATL, IND) but not others.
