Lions are the new most overrated team in football.

On a side note for Atlanta, is there a team that has received more hype and acclaim that has won literally absolutely NOTHING? I hope we beat their ass on Sunday.

If/when we do, I think you'll see the story on them flipped, and everybody will be talking about how Ryan can't win the big game. Overreacting in the other direction, iow.

I agree with him that the Lions right now are overrated. Yes they are 4-0 but they have faced some questionable competition and dug themselves deep in holes early in some games. Credit to them for fighting back and winning but that doesn't mean they are as good as some people have said.

They are a very promising upcoming young and talented team, but I don't think they are as good as their record or some pundits have made them out to be this year.

Lions beat a pretty good TB team, dominate a lolz team and won 2 games versus teams that didn't want to win. They are good but I wouldn't put them in my top 5 in the NFL yet.

Yeah, they lose last week's game 9/10 times. They still seem like a very good team to me, though, so it's hard for me to say they're the most overrated. I think that goes to the Chargers for now. They're playing like ****. If they don't get their act together in the bye (which they'll probably go into at 4-1 after this week's game at Denver), I think they could easily lose 4 of the next 5.

I'm not sure I would call Tampa Bay a pretty good team, yes they are 3-1 but they barely beat the Vikings and the Colts two teams that are absolutely AWFUL. Their win over the Falcons is the best thing they have going for them.

Also not only would the Lions lose last weeks game 9 times out of 10, they likely lose the game the week before where they were down 20 to the Vikings at halftime 9 times out of 10 so the chances of them winning both games is somewhere around 1% or so :P

Yeah, I had never seen it before and unfortunately caught the tail end of it last night. Can anyone tell me what day and time it is on weekly? I really enjoy the NFL Films type shows where they let you hear the players and coaches talk.

Some people and jumping on bandwagons lol. Lions have not even played a playoff team yet. Yet in power rankings there a top 3 ranked team. Falcons had a good year last year everything went thier way. the Lions so far are having a 2010 Falcons season.

If I made power rankings, I'd probably have the Lions 5th after the Packers, Saints, Ravens and Pats, not necessarily in that order.

The Lions may fade, but as of right now they are 4-0 with a better point differential than the Packers. Have we played a better schedule? Yes, but its not like our schedule has been THAT tough. We've played IMO one playoff team and I think two of the teams (Carolina/Denver) will win 6 or less games.

Lions are 9th in DVOA. Packers 4th.

Packers are 2nd in Offensive DVOA, at 39.2%.

Their run game is good. 14.7%, good for seventh in the league.

Their passing game is a supernova. 79% above league average, good for first. For context, the 2007 Pats were 75.4% above league average.

If the defense starts clicking, the team becomes completely unbeatable.

@BobMcGinn
Bob McGinn
C Todd McClure, glue of ATL O-line, out. Backup Hawley bigger, not nearly as savvy. #Packers Raji, Pickett hard to move. Turner to run wide?

Aaron_Nagler Aaron Nagler
RT @caplannfl: Falcons DE John Abraham (questionable) added to the injury report after being limited in Friday's practice.

The 1st one (McClure) being out is huge, if Abraham joins him, my oh my does it change the complexion of the game.

Also, curious bit of info I heard from the Fantasy Football podcast on ESPN. Matthew Berry mentioned on air during both the Thursday and Friday live shows AND during an online chat that he received a strong indication from someone in the know that James Starks will get the majority of reps over the Falcons this week.

My question to you clever folks, who (or what capacity, e.g., beat writer, player, or coach) might have tipped Berry off. Again, he is quite confident about this one. I'm quite interested in this not so much for fantasy, but I'm still of the opinion that having one lead back and a change of pace back is the way to go. IMO, both Grant and Starks benefit from getting carries in large bunches rather than trading off during series.

Also, who doesn't remember how sad BJax and Kuhn looked last season in the run game. I'm looking forward to play ATL again with a healthy Starks and a Ryan Grant with little to no blood in his urine.
You gotta make it sexy! Hips and nips, otherwise I'm not eating.
