It will depend on how Ball tests out

My SEC friend, who loves to boast about the SEC being the best football conference as well as ripping on the B1G for being overrated, posted that on my wall this afternoon. I don't buy it.

If Ball breaks or ties the TD record, he's second round on hype alone, and based on his workouts he could slip into late one. People will sell the hell out of the fact that he doesnt have a lot of tread on his tires. I think he could be a McGahee type back.

ESPN_BigTen Rittenberg/Bennett
Bielema talked to Jim Sorgi for tips on playing at Lucas Oil Stadium

I thought this was pretty funny. First of all, what kind of tips could you possibly get about playing in a controlled atmosphere like a dome. Second, how many snaps did Sorgi actually play at Lucas Oil Stadium?

How many snaps is Bielema going to take? I don't know what the hell sort of advice anybody is going to get out of those sort of things, even asking Peyton Manning, but these "advice" sessions always seem to happen. I dunno, maybe what the track is like on the field, where it is loud, etc. It's more of just a stupid storyline than help no matter who is helping.

If the Badgers were to beat MSU, it's now a sure thing that they'd face Oregon in the Rose Bowl.

I've seen all or parts of 4-5 of Oregon's games this year. If Wisconsin were to face the Ducks, i have no doubt that we'll be able to score at least 24 points and likely more. Defensively though, i shudder to think what that Oregon offense would do to this Badgers defense. I envision watching that game and yelling at the TV non-stop as the Oregon offense both gets lots of big plays and consistently converts on 3rd/4th downs. When the Ducks get in that ultra-hurry up mode and our DL gets gassed, i think it will get ugly.

My last thought is wondering what the over/under would be for a Wisconsin/Oregon Rose Bowl? At minimum, i'd have to think it starts somewhere around 65-70 points. That's a lot of points, but the way both teams can light up the scoreboard quickly, any over/under number below 65 would leave me not even giving the under a second of thought.

You have to remember that the issue Oregon has traditionally faced is they're not facing a team with only a week to prepare.

The Badgers will be rested and have had a month to prepare, unlike every other Oregon opponent.

Good lord, I would hope we could score more than 24. We're going to have the ball for 40 minutes (whether it is Oregon slashing our defense for 2 minute drives or just having to punt early a lot).

24 would be as low as I'd expect the Badgers to score if they were to play in that game.

I'm kinda joking here, but mostly not...while I understand that Oregon struggles when a good team has a week to prepare for their offense, I don't think it matters how long the Badgers prepare. They'll play some garbage vanilla game and probably get throttled.

I want to win this game but I really don't want to play Oregon. It would be painful watching us try to stop their offense.

I'm going to be sick to my stomach if either A) MSU gets the Rose Bowl bid, or B) We lose to Oregon, and two consecutive Rose Bowls. We need to win these two games for my physical, and mental well being.
