The Mets should enjoy the 1 year... I mean two months... that they are in the spotlight. The Yankees are down, but they will rise back up. They have the best set of pitching prospects in the minors, and while hitting might be a problem down the line, pitching won't. The Yankees are going through a transitional stage with their pitching right now, and they don't have the luxury of an awful NL to pad their stats.
Enjoy being the King of New York in April and May... we all know who the King of New York is in October..

Good. Memories are a good thing...
You wouldn't really know though...
Rasner as good as Maine.... . I just looked up delusional in the dictionary and cmaff and 34celtic were synonyms.
It's not out of the realm of possibility man. Rasner has shown good stuff last year and this year against offenses that don't exist in the NL. I hate to play the AL > NL card but it's true and when you look at the teams Rasner has had to face compared to the teams Maine has faced -- you will see that they are pretty comprable. Rasner would be just as good if not a little better than Maine in the NL. It's no secret that you can get by in the NL with mediocre stuff. Maine has a plus fastball with awful secondary pitches. That makes him mediocre or maybe slightly above it.
Even if I did have Maine envy I got to see my shortstop win 4 World Series.
Ah the good ol' days.

Well enjoy watching Reyes, because I'm enjoying watching a guy that will end up with 3500 hits, possibly as many as 4000 when its all said and done. Derek Jeter is an immortal.

He'll be the best home-grown position player the Mets have ever produced. And there's still more in the system - Carlos Gomez, Fernando Martinez, Guerra, etc.

Touchy, touchy....I read your post too quickly. I thought you meant that you were going to enjoy watching Reyes get 3500 to 4000 hits - my bad. You Yankee fans are so angry...

That is one of the things about Mets fans. More joy from the Yankees losing then their own team winning.
