Right, and I agree they're dumb, but it seems that even before they call touch back on an INT they do the wave the arms over the head thing. What a stupid way to end a game.

As for McCarthy blasting the refs, I guess he's just too classy for that. That's also why they bothered to come back onto the field.

I've always seen that signal given on a change of possession, like a turnover especially on interceptions, it means other things, like stoppage of clock (though more so when a guy goes out of bounds) but when an interception occurs, that's the first signal that I always see.
Yeah he was giving the signal to stop the clock because there was a change of possession,so basically he was signaling an interception.
