That looked like Ball was getting ready to block.

Is it not where his feet are during the catch? Because they were a half yard past the **** 1st down marker.

This is the worst Badger offensive line I have ever seen in my life. Just sad. Whoever #79 is should never see the field again. Dude sucks out loud.

....and with that performance, I don't have to worry about wasting any more of my time on Wisconsin football this year.

Wisconsin is going to make the Big Ten Championship, there aren't any other good teams in their division other than Ohio State and we all know they are ineligible for post season play. So if they can just get a W in the Big Ten Championship they'll go to their 3rd straight Rose Bowl.

Bielema is a dumb coach and that's why this team does and should (Utah State, MSU in the championship last year) lose a lot of close games, many involving collapses. Close games, 4th quarters, come down to decision making, game management, etc. and the guy doesn't have it in that department. He should not let a QB that has led the team to 27 points at Nebraska come out of the game for one who led the team to zero meaningful ones at Oregon State. And he should not allow the game end on on a play that has been virtually hopeless thru 4 quarters. Just like he shouldn't have allowed Russell Wilson to spike w/ 2 seconds against Oregon. He just doesn't think well on the spot and it permeates throughout the team. He should not have called that TO at MSU and told players to bat the ball on the hail mary if they were in position as Abbrederis was. The breakdown on the D against OSU in 2008 allowing Pryor to run in uncontested. The sideline penalty to start the turnaround for MSU that year and not taking the TO before the game losing field goal to preserve 40 seconds. The heave at OSU last year. There have just been so many mental breakdowns late in games either with players or by the coach. We can't have this at Wisconsin especially. It's not like our recruiting base is Texas', and they couldn't afford it either.

I think there were a lot of failures down the stretch but I think that play was a naked boot. That's probably the only thing I wouldn't pile on Bielema for.

From what I read, this is still quite the dysfunctional coaching situation, namely between Bielema and Canada, and the latter is not likely to last until 2013 if he makes it that long. Canada supposedly doesn't believe in the team and that's why he's called games so hyper conservatively. Bielema doesn't believe in Canada and that's why he publicly hasn't supported some of his decisions like to barely use Gordon (which BB is right about) and demanded that DOB replace Stave at the first sign of weakness. Canada believes Stave should be the starter (which Canada is right about) and Bielema still thinks it should be DOB and that's why he ran the 2-minute drill. I think it's time to part ways sooner than later. BB needs an offensive guru like Chryst was that he can trust because he's not an offensive mind himself, and the kids in the program deserve an OC who believes in them more. Many of these kids were part of squads which won back to back Big Ten titles and while there are holes this year a number of the remaining players are talented.

On a positive note, I liked that Gordon in motion/jet sweep package we ran numerous times to several forms of fakes/jet sweeps/deception.

I'd love to see Gordon get some of Ball's snaps. Ball is best running between the tackles, but the line has struggled badly opening holes on those inside runs, yet it's been practically the only running play Canada calls. Except for the few misdirection runs to Gordon when he goes in motion, Canada isn't calling any running plays which tests the edges of a run defense.

Those guys in the front 7-8 of defenses we face can pretty much guarantee that if Ball is in the game and it's a run, the play call will be an inside run. Gordon and even White have better quickness to turn outside runs into big plays if they can find a crease.

Plus, by constantly calling one inside run after another, that misdirection fake handoff play while the QB rolls out the other way becomes much less effective. Chryst used that a ton by faking the outside zone run with the QB coming around the other side to either run or hit an open TE. That brought the offense many easy first downs.
