Finley kind of divulged too much information saying that he's 85%, they're giving him all sideline routes to protect his shoulder, and that if he doesn't get hit too hard Sunday, that he should be back to 100% next week or after the bye.

I don't know what to tell you about traffic, but I'm legitimately excited for you, being that it's your first trip to Lambeau.

As others have said, park outside the stadium and walk around. DON'T BE SHY. I seriously can't stress that enough. I've never been the foreigner to Lambeau but we've welcomed many, and the story is the same every time. The Green Bay tailgaters will treat you like you're one of their own, regardless of whether or not you're wearing Packer gear or the opponent. If you tell them it's your first time at Lambeau, you'll be treated even better.

Just be social. Say hi to your neighbors and walk around. You'll have an absolute blast.

Thanks, DB. I've heard about the kindness of the Lambeau faithful, and am planning to get to the stadium early so I can experience it.

I always get up there around 8 or so for a noon game. Park free on the street within a couple blocks of Lambeau. Leaving at 6 kind of sucks but there will be little traffic heading north. I always park so I only have to make a couple of right turns to head back to the freeway. Go to the pro shop, it's awesome but also very very crowded with a line to get in, so go there early. Jersey Store is a good place too, on Holmgren Way a couple blocks from Lambeau. Walk through the parking lot, lots of friendly people. Also lots of places to get booze/food all around Lambeau. After the game will be a zoo to get back to the freeway, either one, 41 or 43. If you can just hang out for an hour or 90 minutes.

Personally I take 41 up and get off on Oneida St. Seems less congested than Lombardi Ave although your mileage may vary.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I agree totally

Me and buddies always find a yard to park in and then just wander around because there is a party going on everywhere around you, be it at outdoors bar parties or big tailgait parties.

It's a sight you simply can't imagine until you experience it if you simply wander around as DB points out. Just one big party everywhere around you. In fact, i've had so much fun before games that it can be hard to leave in time to get in the stadium before the game starts. One year me and three friends had an absolute blast partying with a group of Vikings fans we happened to meet. All of us ended up being late for the start of the game, missed half of the first quarter.

You'll have a blast. My first trip to Lambeau was the Giants game in 2010. I couldn't believe how nice everybody was and how great of an atmosphere it was.

I agree about finding a business to park at as well. We parked at some Mexican restaurant, a few blocks down from Lambeau, and just walked through the tailgate lots. Plenty of free beer and food to go around. I made the mistake of not checking out the HOF before that Giants game, but I went last year before the Tampa Bay game and strongly recommend that to you as well.

Don't park in the stadium parking lot. Park instead in any of the countless yards and/or businesses around the stadium offering parking for around 10-15 bucks. Saves time leaving after the game.

K-Mart is a pretty awesome tailgating atmosphere actually.

I should specify that I've toured Lambeau before and was last at the Packer HOF in 2009. It is a spectacular sight, but I can't imagine what it's like on gameday. I can't wait to take it all in.

I'm carpooling with some Madison friends up there. They've got season tickets one of their family members decided that she didn't want to go to see the Jags, so they called me up because they've always teased me about never having gone to a game despite my love for the team. It actually seems like a good situation for me to enjoy the experience. They've been to games for years, so I'm sure they'll help me know what's what. Plus, because it's the hobbled Jags, I'm less concerned about actually watching the game and more excited about the experience of just being there.

Sure, seeing a top flight opponent for a big game would've been something special, but I would've been so into the game that I couldn't have really enjoyed the experience. This game, on the other hand, should afford me time to walk around the stadium and see it all.

Thanks for the tips everybody. You're making me even more giddy to head up there on Sunday.

Tailgaiting in the wal-mart parking lot is the best.

Crosby's problem is his lack of clutch-ness.

Crosby is the classic guy who will nail 50+ yarders in his sleep with the best of them if we are up say 35-10.

But if it's a clutch 35 yarder he'll probably shank it.

It's funny that this is going to be your first Packer game because next week will be my first regular season Packer game. I went to a preaseason game last year but sat in the club seats inside so I didn't get the real experience of Lambeau. Needless to say I'm pretty pumped for next week. Hope you have a good time this week.
