-CB Sam Shields had a setback and will be out a couple of weeks. It's a more serious injury than we anticipated.
-Clay Matthews is doubtful for the week.
-It would be a stretch for Greg Jennings to make it this week despite running routes today.

****. Shields was playing very well this year too. It would be great to have him back sooner rather than later.

-Clay Matthews is doubtful for the week.

Hard to think our defense can put together another performance like last week without Matthews. Maybe Mozes really is an impact player though, that would certainly be nice.

Could really care less about this one. Jennings is great, he obviously helps... but he isn't that big of a loss because of our other talent. (Unless we suffer other injuries at WR/TE)

I think Jennings provides our best vertical threat, which might open up the underneath stuff more for Cobb/Nelson/Jones/Finley. I think it matters and he's a big loss, but obviously don't want him rushing back. But we've had a lot of trouble going deep without Jennings, part of that is how teams are playing us, part of that is missing GJ.

Lets go Giants!!!

I like a handful of NFL teams, but the Giants are particularly close to my heart. I don't think it's any secret that when we (or anyone else) plays the Packers, Rodgers is a huge danger man. I'm hopeful that with Tuck, Pierre-Paul, Osi and co. that we can get plenty of pressure on Rodgers and minimize some of his influence. It should be a great game between two great teams though. I'm very much looking forward to this game, especially seeing as it is going to be on tv here in Australia.

Rob Demovsky was reporting that he talked to Shields after McCarthy's presser and he said he was unaware of any setbacks and that he feels fine. Weird sitch now. Speculation is Packers want the young guys to unseed Shields. Seems like a really odd way of going about it.

off-topic, but weird how that seems to be how many NFL coaches seem to be using injuries to make roster moves that they don't have the stones to make on their own. For instance, it has been widely suggested that the Eagles exaggerated the severity of vick's concussion in hopes that Foles played well and they wouldn't have to bench Vick for him. Similarly, look at SF. Although now it looks like they made the call for Kaepernick, I dislike how it took the Smith injury for them to find the motivation to give him a chance.

Speaking of which, what do you all think of that move? seems like risky business to swtch qb's this late in the season on a title contender. Sure Kaepernick looked great against CHI, but, imo, while his ceiling is quite a bit higher that Smiths, boy does his floor seem to be much, much lower as well. Think I myself may have rode out the season with Smith.

Jennings practiced this afternoon. Sounds like he's going to be a game-time decision. Worst case scenario, he'll be back next week against Minnesota.

The Giants have really struggled on offense lately, but I'm always worried when Matthews is out. Last week was certainly an unexpected performance from the defense (in my eyes). I thought they played extremely well, given the circumstances. The offense is going to have to play better this week if we want to win this one. Let's hope McCarthy actually throws the ball more in this one. I'm still dumbfounded on how we actually managed to run the ball more than pass it against Detroit.

Side note, but I thought this hamstring injury was relatively minor for Matthews compared to the other ones he suffered? He only missed the 4th quarter against Washington and then the next week's game against Miami before he came back in 2010. This time around, we had a bye week, the Detroit game and now this game in which he'll probably be out. That's a little concerning.

Good start to the week with Detroit and Dallas both losing as well.

GregGilbertson: Opposing QBs have a 28.5 passer rating when throwing at Casey Hayward, the lowest mark for any CB in the NFL according to @PFF

I highly doubt Jennings plays. He and Clay will be back for the Queens.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

30 of the 32 sacks Rodgers has taken have come 2.5 seconds after snap. Not enough quick throws.

Is there going to be a game thread?
