Really? You probably should be.

That said, I hope Webb looks like an extremely rusty, nervous QB. Would be great. There is definitely a chance of that, but the people calling this game over because he is in need to keep in mind what Webb might be able to do against short preparation. Mike Mayock agreed.

I meant "not safe" as in I'd be worried if I was the Packers against any QB as long as they are handing it to Peterson.

Not sure how you took it.

When was the last game we had all of Jennings, Nelson, Cobb, Jones, and Finley all healthy together? Week 2?

I'm saying with me at QB you could put 11 in the box and not worry about me at all. I'm a terrible QB in those backyard family football games where nobody rushes you.

I don't feel totally safe knowing twirly is roaming the streets :)

Actually it's been like years sense we've had a good twirlyism. :(

Those teams don't have Adrian Peterson.

What does that have to do with beating a running QB?

If Joe Webb was on that Seahawks team (with a good RB in Lynch), and we had a full season of tape on him knowing 100% he'd be the QB, I'd put my life savings on the Packers.

The Packers almost lost at home to the Vikings and Ponder played like a 4th grader. The element of surprise and not being prepared could be just enough for him to make some big plays. He only needs to throw 10-15 times.

Marshawn Lynch, Alfred Morris, etc. cannot carry a team. I wouldn't feel safe with twirly at QB if Peterson is running the ball behind him.

I live in Minnesota and people were clamoring for Webb all year. It's not like they are dipping from Rodgers down to Graham Cracker. They are going from a C- QB to a D+ QB but given we haven't prepared, you never know what he can do.

Perfectly stated, I'm in Minnesota too and attended a couple of days of training camp. The first round investment played a tremendous role in the amount of consideration given to allowing Ponder every opportunity to start over Webb. There has been a vocal group of Webb fans since Week 1 clamoring for the switch. As Grendon pointed out, even if this is a C- to a D+, these are two wildlly different players, and that could spell trouble for a defensive coordinator who is terrible at in-game adjustments. That being said, I remain optimistic that GB has been preparing for this.

Or because he is terrible. :dontknow:

Maybe, maybe not

This is a great point. I think it's safe to say that even if Webb was better -but not significantly better- than ponder the Vikings still would have started Ponder this season. This especially seems like it would be true considering the expectations the vikings coaches and FO most likely had coming into this season. That's not to say he IS better than Ponder, just that the argument that if he was better he wouldn't be second string really isn't a strong one at all...

Ponder is a pretty decent running QB himself, so I wouldnt expect to much change in gameplan other than obviously expecting the run more.

Worried, but hoping that Webb's inevitable run plays will take carries away from AP.

Christian Schneider ‏@Schneider_CM
Leslie Frazier - we're sitting Ponder "to get him ready for next week." Ugh.
