The Value of Draft Picks Sure Has Changed...

http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/195472911.html

JSOnline reprinted this article from 1974 when we traded for Jon Hadl at the trade deadline. Hadl was at one time a good QB. But in 1974 he was 34 and had been benched by the Rams after a 6-16, 2 INT game against... the Packers.

Amazingly we gave up first, second and third round picks in 1975 AND first and second round picks in 1976. Hadl finished the 74 season, played his only full season with the Pack in 1975, throwing 6 TDs, 21 picks and a passer rating of 52,8.

Said Devine about giving up 5 high draft picks:

Said Devine, however, "We still have everything for the 1975 draft but our first and third choices, and that includes two second-round picks. The Rams originally wanted players, and we got it down to the draft choices. We have a lot of people on injured reserve who, when healthy, will give us an overcomplement of players, so replacing those draft choices is not going to be any problem if and when we want to do it."

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

The Value of Draft Picks Has NOT Changed... Devine was stupid & desperate. I remember being horrified at the priice even tho Pack was suffering atrocious QBs. That trade locked Pack into a talent depletion that haunted us for years.

Random question, how old are you? I thought you were just a few years older than me but that was 19 years before I was born.
