He's another guy the Packers had in for a visit:

WR Kevin Dorsey, Maryland, 6-1 3/8, 207. At his pro day he impressed scouts with a 4.47-second 40-yard dash, 38-inch vertical leap and a 10-foot 10-inch broad jump. Dorsey has been training with NFL players in Atlanta. Only caught 18 passes last year - mostly because the Terrapins used three freshmen at quarterback - but he averaged 17.3 yards per catch. The year before he caught 45 passes for 573 yards.

Ted hits on WRs. It is a position we scout very well. I'll have to defer to his judgement on this kid. I know nothing about him.

Yeah good point. His QB's must have really sucked.

Literally. I'm a UMaryland guy and all of our QBs went down this year with freak injuries.

Well, one way of looking at this pick is that he's got the physical tools and he loves the game. If he had the production to go with it, no way he'd have been there in the 7th round. There were definitely some things outside his control keeping that production down, but whether those things should be enough to drag a pro talent's production down to that level is, to be generous, an open question. Sounds like a great guy to have in camp at any rate.
