I think TT really hit the draft 'in his wheelhouse' with GJ as a 2nd rd pick. If not for the injuries... he has been like a Jerry Rice light. I wish him the best, his talents' are multi-faceted. Can you blame him for being a little bitter in this situation? Good luck this season Greg, just not all season.

Why should he be bitter? He has been a cripple for years. He hasn't played a full season in for 2 years, and the Packers offered him a competitive rate to what the Vikings offered. He decided to leave.

Taking shots at the best player in the league is a scummy move, especially when he plays for another team. Maybe Jennings should let his play on the field (which it hasn't done since 2010) do the talking before taking shots at someone who is on the fast track for the Hall of Fame.

Cornerback Tarell Brown had triggered a $2 million escalator to his 2013 base salary and was scheduled to earn $2.925 million in the final year of his contract. However, since Brown opted to do his offseason training at his home in Texas, instead of participating in the 49ers' workout program in Santa Clara, Calif., that escalator has voided and his base salary has returned to his original $925,000, a source with knowledge of Brown's contract details confirmed.. Brown was also scheduled to receive a $75,000 workout bonus, but that has vanished, as well.

As you might have guessed, Brown has fired his agent after learning about all of the money he lost—news he first heard on Twitter, of all things, according to Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle:

That is brutal.

Accused killer Aaron Hernandez was captured on his own home surveillance cameras holding a large caliber firearm in the minutes after his friend was shot dead, according to court documents released today.

Prosecutors added that they found a spent .45 caliber shell casing in a car rented by the former New England Patriots star that matched the five bullets found in the body of murder victim Odin Lloyd.

Looks like his own security system will play a key role in the trial, what an idiot.

Even the Seahawks without Harvin and the 49ers without Crabs are probably unbeatable. Best teams ever, no chance to ever beat them, too physical, too much talent, Packers are the softest ever, etc.

Going to be the first year where two teams win the Super Bowl. That's how good they are... that's how physical they are!

Even without Crabtree and Harvin, I do believe San Fran and Seattle are better teams than Green Bay.

They might be.

The point is that they aren't unbeatable... and they weren't before the injuries either. A lot of people were (some still are) acting like those teams were the only ones who had a chance to win the NFC.

I'd say SF and SEA are still the top tier NFC teams, with Green Bay, NY, and New Orleans in tier two.

I don't get it. Yeah SF is probably better than us, stomped us in the playoffs and the only team to beat us at home last year but Seattle? People do remember we beat them on their turf last year? At the very least we're even with them until proven otherwise.

I'd love to get a shot at Seattle in the playoffs, especially on our turf.

I think there are few too many question marks about this Packer squad to really tell if we are on Seattle or San Frans level as of right now. Will our running game be a big strength? Will some players develop on D and cause us to become a strong defensive team once more?

The team we "beat" is nowhere near the team that finished the season. They are young and improving and that defense is crazy good. They also have a great formula for beating Green Bay. They can play the ground control game, and with the addition of Avril, their pass rush will be much improved, which will make their possibly best secondary in the league look even better.

Again, not saying Green Bay has no chance to beat them. Anytime you have the best QB in the league you COULD beat anyone. But on paper, Green Bay would be the underdog.

Their ground control game, like when the Packers held Lynch under 4 YPC?

Didn't they sack Rodgers like 8 times in Seattle and we still beat them?

I'm not going to consider SF and Seattle better than us until I see Kapernick and Wilson continue their good play from last season. I think they'll fall back to earth a bit now that coordinators have had an entire off season to game plan for them. They pretty much came out of no where last year and took a lot of teams by surprise.

Right now I'd pick SF as the favorite in the NFC with GB and SEA right behind them. I completely agree that the young QBs are still a total question mark though.

But Jake also believes Russell Wilson is going to win MVP (AKA he believes Wilson is basically the best player in football or right up there in the top three)... so if you factor that in, you can see why he thinks Seattle is going to be so great.

I personally would like to see Kaepernick and Wilson prove it a little more. I am more sold on Luck, Cam and RG3 (if healthy) than those guys. I think all five of those guys have an incredible amount of talent though and wouldn't be surprised if any of them ended up being 'elite QBs' for a long period of time.

This.

Kaepernick especially - I actually think Russell Wilson is going to end up being a mini, mobile Drew Brees.

I know every team in the league has made improvements, but when I look at GB, I just get the feeling that we could improve by absolute leaps and bounds, all with reasonable assumptions, like:

-Lacy and Franklin improve the running game. We've had one of the top offenses the last few years with ZERO ground game.
-Our D-line improves. With Raji and Pickett playing for contracts and Datone looking like a star, very likely.
-Our LB's stay healthy and someone steps up next to CM3. Between Manning / Moses / Perry, if one of those guys figures out how to get to the QB, our pass rush would improve dramatically.

I don't care who SEA or SF "got" this off-season, if these 3 weaknesses from last year can become strengths (which looks likely to me), no one is beating GB this year.

It'll be interested to see how Kaep's and Wilson's 2nd year's go and whether or not they can avoid the sophomore slump.

I agree with Pliska. I think Wilson is safer than Kaep but both could not perform on the same level. Just look at what happened to Cam. I think pure QBs are vastly safer from being out-schemed than gimmicky ones like Kaep.

Wilson was my pick for MVP before the Harvin injury. Could still happen but less likely now. Obviously I'm a fan of his and have been since his NC State days. It's kinda funny. I think a lot of people think QBs that can run are flawed but with Wilson it's not the case. I will always maintain that if you look at mechanics, accuracy, and just overall decision making rather than hype, Wilson might have been the #1 pick last year if he was 6'2. People just refused to get over his height.
