Re: Packers/Bengals Lead Up
Yeah, players need to play as long as they can. If they're good enough to play that long they obviously love the game so you have to play as long as you can. It's not like you can retire and then go back 10 years later because you miss it.

I think the concussions 3 years ago really are in the back of his head when he says that he'll play this last deal out and retire.
I don't blame him if he does. Hopefully by then, he will have accomplished everything that can possibly be accomplished.

I may be reading Rodgers wrong but he doesn't seem like a guy in love with football. He seems too intellectual to let something completely dedicate his life. He seems to have other aspirations and willing to try new things.
I see him playing to close to 40 but if he has a few life altering hits or injuries, I see him taking his savings and enjoying his life ........which is what he should do despite what selfish fans say.

I don't see how a guy that is so freaking competitive and so freaking good at his job could not be in love with said job. Maybe that doesnt exactly follow perfectly, but honestly If u are a highly competitive person (which I feel like by all accounts Arod is, correct me if I'm wrong) what job could be better than being a pro athlete? How could u not love having that as ur job?
I feel like there is no way that Arod could work that incredibly hard at honing his craft and get himself to where he's without question the absolute best in world at what he does (the best as in literally not one single person in the world is better than him at what he does) and not be in love with what he does. That's crazy to me to even contemplate that he doesn't love playing football, if he doesn't love football then Jesus Christ how good would he be if he did??
Lol honestly though if u hear Arod recount his high school football memories playing for Chico against Shasta (or maybe that's Butte cc against Shasta, I forget) on wildes show with incredible pride and detail I think u would understand that he is man wildly in love with what he does for a living. I've been hugely wrong before though so I admit I could be way off with that assessment, who knows...

Hey, while the browns are on a roll, let's try to take joe Thomas off their hands. That would be awesome

I'm not saying he doesn't enjoy football, but I don't think he's in the mold of Brett Favre or a few other guys where you wonder what the guy would do without football and the locker room community. I could see rodgers going into business and being competitive in trying new things. When you are that good for that long, guys tend to see if they can be great at other things.
