If Rodgers can play against Detroit, we have to play him. No sense in giving up on the season that soon.

Here's more from Cobb. WIlde was commenting earlier this morning how weird it all was.

Packers receiver Randall Cobb said today in the locker room that the earliest he could return is mid-December and suggested it wasn’t a fractured fibula that landed him on the injured reserve list designated for return.

When asked if reports of a fractured fibula were inaccurate, Cobb said: “It wasn’t what it was.” He declined to reveal the exact nature of the injury.

Here is more from Cobb’s conversation with the media in the locker room.

On how he is feeling: “Obviously I’m off crutches, I’m finally moving around, just now getting into some body weight stuff, just taking it slow.”

On when he can return: “I don’t know, I think that’s out of the question right now. We’re trying to get back to walking and running.”

On mid-December being a target date for his return: “That’s the earliest I could come back. It’s not a target date. It’s the earliest that I can come back depending on where I am in my rehab.”

On if there’s a chance he won’t play again this year: “I didn’t say that.”

On if he will for sure play in the regular season: “I can’t make that call right now. Right now today I cannot play. I’m doing everything I can. I’m working my butt off in the rehab process. This is something that it needs time. It’s getting better. There’s still no timeline on when I can come back.”

On if he was injured on a dirty hit: “You know it was what it was. I’m just happy that my teammates stuck up for me the way they did. … I think they said enough.”

On reportedly breaking his fibula: “Did I break a bone?”

On if there’s some doubt about breaking a bone: “That’s the reports. I don’t know.”

On why he won’t give the specific nature of his injury: “It doesn’t matter, does it?”

When pressed on the injury: “A broken bone, I don’t know about that. But hey that was what the reports was so it is what it is.”

On whether the reports about a broken bone were inaccurate: “It wasn’t what it was, but hey.”

On if it’s some type of a fracture or crack: “I’m getting better.”

On whether he fractured his fibula: “I’m getting better.”

When asked about specifics of his injury: “My injury put me out 6 to 8 weeks, according to what (the doctors) say.”

On why he would let inaccurate information hang out there about him: “As long as I know what’s wrong with me, the doctors and my family know what’s wrong with me, I don’t really care what anybody else says or thinks.”

On whether he can say it wasn’t a fracture: “They put me out six to eight weeks.”
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Damn, how different ways can they ask him the same question? He clearly doesn't want to discuss it.

eagle13 wrote:Our pass rush hasn't been terrible. In SB yr we had crap at other OLB but we got pressure with Clay & Jenkins & Raji. This year Neal and Perry are hurt and hugely inconsistent at OLB and that hurts but Daniels & Jones are getting pressure inside equal to what Jenkins & Raji did in SB year. Its Clay that's MIA. Obviously its due to injury. but this week I see no excuse for Clay & Packers to not have an effective pass rush.

The collapse of our run d seems also due mainly to OLB play.

I definitely agree with that.

Is it true that statistically Jones and Daniels are getting similar pressures to what Raji and Jenkins did the Super Bowl year? I don't doubt it with Daniels as he has been great. But Jones I haven't seen do much until just recently. Plus Jenkins and Raji were both REALLY good the Super Bowl year.

Maybe that's true and statistics back it up, it just doesn't seem like it would be true.

I definitely agree with Matthews declining due to injury. I actually thought Perry was doing a good job as well until... you know... he also got injured. :(

DJones starting 2 games ago has improved significantly w/ 3 sacks.

2010- rookie Raji 6.5 sacks / Jenkins 7 sacks

2013- rookie Jones 3 sacks in last 2 games / Daniels 4.5 sacks

I wouldn't just look at sacks though. I think pressures and hits are almost as important in determining how effective these guys are at rushing the passer.

I got a good feeling about Sunday for some strange reason.

I think it's on Tolzien to finish some drives with TD's this week.

Fortunately, the Vikings secondary is horrendous. Tolzien should have a decent game

The run D has to step up and not get demolished like against Philly. Every single player was terrible against the run that game. Embarrassing.

Peterson didn't practice yesterday, questionable for Sunday. I'd succumb to alcohol poisoning if he didn't play and they somehow still lost.

I believe the line would go up significantly. I haven't bet more than $10 a game here and there, but I would be $100 on the Vikings if it went up to +380 on the money line if AP didn't suit up.

Can't take anything for granted. I remember a Brad Hoover running all over us on MNF one year (different teams, I know).

I would think and hope he has learned over the past few games on what to do, but he is still young and make the stupid mistakes.

We've been brutal in the red zone all year. 3rd worst TD conversion % in the entire league. Let's just remember Rodgers and the entire team has struggled in this facet of the game the entire season. This is another point of emphasis for the team in the offseason. Frankly, it's amazing our offense was ranked so highly prior to Rodger's injury given this reality.
