Re: ATL: Week 12
I have a feeling this Monday night game is gonna be a battle. The Skins can't defend the pass but the Niners pass offense hasn't been sharp lately...

Re: ATL: Week 12
When you go 10-6 which is a solid but not great record and you are the #6 seed I don't think you can be considered fools gold because the expectation shouldn't be that high going in.
When you go 15-1 and then get humiliated at home to go 0-1 in the playoffs that was fools gold.
11-5 with the #3 seed while having a chance at 12-4 and the #2 seed on the final day of the season then once again you get humiliated in the playoffs the way the Packers did that is fools gold too,not the extent of 2011 but it's fools gold.
If Rodgers' doesn't get hurt and the Packers had went 12-4 lets say, it would have once again been fools gold to a lot of fans.
At 12-4 there would have been a mirage that team was legit when the reality for the 3rd straight season would have been that it was the greatness of Aaron Rodgers carrying this team to a 12-4 regular season record, and for the 3rd straight season the defense would have been exposed when it mattered when the Packers played the teams that actually are legit.
This season they (the defense) got exposed sooner rather than later (the playoffs) because Rodgers got hurt.
Sure it's the NFL and anything can happen and Rodgers is the best qb in the world and it's possible he could carry them pretty far,I get that and I understand that.
But like I harped on back in August,if anyone thought this Packers team was in the first tier of contenders this season they were delusional because this defense is terrible.
The offense is damn good,it's a championship caliber offense without a doubt and the addition of Lacy has been huge.
But the Packers are going nowhere other than a good regular season record behind Aaron Rodgers with this defense.

Appearing on Monday Night Countdown, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Seahawks RCB Brandon Browner has been suspended one year for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.

Wow these guys just won't quit the supplements, geez. Wish it had been Sherman not Browner though...

Re: ATL: Week 12
And the Broncos are going nowhere without Manning, who can't seem to play in cold weather. Same for the Patriots with Brady. Or any other elite QB in the league. Maybe the Pats win a playoff game without Brady because their D isn't too bad but that's it. Not a championship caliber team without Brady. Broncos without Manning get blown out in their playoff game.
Feel like this is a broken record at this point but whatever, ANY team that loses their superstar QB isn't going anywhere. Doesn't matter how good the D is. Only chance the Broncos and Pats would have is because the AFC is so weak and even then, I just don't see them doing anything without their future HOF QB's.
I am certainly looking forward to when the Niners make the mistake of paying Kaepernick and the Seahawks have to pay Wilson big bucks. Then we will see how well they have really done in putting their teams together for the future. Lots of guys on both teams are going to want big money and they won't be able to keep all of them after they pay Wilson and Kaepernick. Browner is gone for the year, no doubt a blow to that secondary and he's a free agent after this year. Potentially one key guy already gone.
