I was a bit miffed with not speeding things up down there a bit, and I had changed over to the Iowa game, but did they do anything else egregiously bad when I wasn't watching?

Not absolving him but his backup QB that can't throw the ball 10 yards probably got minimal hurry-up reps. We saw Phillips' throws, I think his hope was that we could break off several first down runs which would stop the clock and score with 2 minutes left.

Everyone complaining about GA needs to realize these weren't his players and he was left with a completely bare cupboard at QB and all the DB spots.

Can't wait for next year. The growth of the young guys has me excited.

The only thing that kinda bothers me is that I won't have a ton of optimism about QB yet.

I REALLY want to see this team in a read-option scheme that GA has but it's probably another 2-3 years before we see it. I don't see McEvoy winning the gig or Gillins being ready (he's pretty raw).

I've been one of the people noting that Stave, while not great, as a sophomore was pretty in line with what we had seen from the early-mid 2000s QBs. That said, even with improvement as a junior I'm not extremely excited.

Bart Houston has to be the biggest mystery on the team. Definitely concerning that he wasn't able to show enough in practice to beat out Phillips for the back up job. With Andersen bringing in his own QBs, you'd have to think he'll look to transfer if he can't beat out Stave in the Spring.

Also, I'd love to get Borland in the draft. Hageman in round 1 and Borland in round 2. ;)

Best safety available and Borland would be a great takeaway when the first two days are over.

Glad we used Clement after his 32 yard run early.

If he can't beat out Stave in spring, that means he sucks. You're right, he'll transfer but you'd think it'd be to a lesser program.

Still love that Danny O'Brien transferred to a little private D3 school in North Carolina where my cousin plays tennis.

Why stop there? TT should sign Marqueis Gray when the Browns cut him and trade 3 firsts for Decker. Run Hageman at FB and just play a triple option all day. Then we wouldn't even have to start Badger threads for shameless Gopher plugs haha.
