Guion is the starting NT according to Capers and Cobb the punt returner and Harris the KO returner according to depth chart and Slocum. Capers wants to keep Boyd where he played in training camp.

Any interest in Kevin Vickerson?

Wasn't a huge fan of the idea of Cobb at PR until I saw the depth and talent we have at WR. If he gets banged up again, I think Adams and Janis can both be reasonable replacements. At this point I like him back returning just for the extra chance at a big play.

That's interesting they didn't keep him on the 53, especially since they are already thin at WR. Besides Gordon/Miles Austin, I don't recognize ANY of their WR's. If he couldn't beat out that group, where their #3 to #6 WR's are no names, he had little chance with the Packers roster this year.
I read this about him:

WR Charles Johnson - 6-2, 215 lbs. - A common quote we heard this offseason was, "if the Browns waive Johnson, someone else is going to claim him." Well, it might have helped that he initially made the Browns' 53-man roster and then was waived a day later, but Johnson nonetheless cleared waivers and Cleveland has him on their practice squad. I'm glad they were able to get him on there -- I feel like Johnson still needs time to develop, but could warrant a shot later this season or in camp next year.

Great returns of both punts and kick-offs are a big boost but imo punting and punt returns are a bigger factor in the field position element which is so important. While kick-offs are always from the same stripe punts can be from anywhere on the field outside of field goal range.
I'm excited that the best man for the job is returning punts. Cobb gives us a real threat there. I am also pleased Cobb is not returning kicks. He's too slight for that assignment imo.
I have no stats or proof but it seems returning punts is less dangerous than kick-offs - for the return blockers as well as the return man. The one exception is IF the punt returner mis-judges not calling a fair catch - he can get absolutely destroyed. But other than that (which he has control of calling) the impact of kick off coverage tackles are far more violent than a punt coverage tackle. In punt returns only the 2 gunners build a head of steam running downfield as the rest of the punt coverage meets blocking right at the line of scrimmage. In contrast the KO coverage barrels down almost the length of the field slamming into blockers at full speed as well as the return man.

Guion and Pennel at NT should be effective so saving Boyd to rotate with Jones and Daniels with snaps by Peppers is great!

I agree with this. Also the fact that Kickers on KO's are DISCOURAGED from kicking TOO close to the sideline as it's a penalty. So you get kicks somewhat toward center of the field and allows for more tackles and collisions and hits. Whereas Punters are often encouraged to kick close to the sideline and sometimes it rolls out of bounce or sometimes the PR catches the ball a couple yards from the sideline and may just run 4 or 5 yards upfield and step out of bounds. It all increases the likelihood of injuries on KO's
