Majorleads got banned, he was the main mets poster on that crappy forum.

BJ Upton and Jamie Shields should be there. Take out Reyes and Cano.

I'm not saying Cano should be on the team, but as of the 5th he was leading the voting. Sheilds is having a good season, but I still think Reyes will be the Drays rep.

And I'm not saying it's your fault if he goes. But if he does, it's silly, because BJ is outperforming him comprehensively.

Sticking with the endless justified Rays love, you could make an extremely strong case for Carlos Pena.

Agreed Pena is having a very nice year. But I don't see how he makes the team if Francona is the coach...he's going to pick Youk.

Well obviously, and not entirely undeservingly. But Pena's getting on base 41% of the time and slugging an aweeeeesome .663. Numbers wise, he deserves it. He's also a better defensive player than most of the rest of the legitimate first base candidates.

But of course, everyone just assumes that nothing happens with the Devil Rays so he'll be overlooked.

I'd be surprised if Pena can keep it up. But I'm hoping he can, being a local guy in Boston.

Pena RC per 27 Outs: just over 10

Okie dokie. I'm just saying if Tito is the coach he's most likely going with Youk.

Curtis Granderson deserves legit consideration for an All-Star spot.

Guy is hitting .295 with 9 HR's, 13 triples and 21 doubles. He's on pace to be just the second player in the last 20 years to register 10 or more HR's, stolen bases, doubles and triples prior to the All Star break.

JFYI Nomar was the other guy to do it.

Granderson also has more extra base hits than everyone in the league not named Magglio Ordonez. (He's tied with Chase Utley for the #2 spot in the league in XBH's)

The fact that Leyland is picking the AL reserves is also sure to further help his chances of making the team...but he deserves strong consideration regardless.

That's right it is Leyland. I don't know why I had it in my head that the team with the best record by the break gets their manager to go. All these leagues should have the same rules for all-star games.

He deserves to be in the talks no doubt. But when he's lumped in with Sabathia, Verlander, Beckett for one of the last pitching spots I can't say I like his chances all that much.

So now, no CC and no Carmona??? How do two of the best pitchers in the league not make the team? At least one has to be on there.
