I'm not surprised by the fine.

I think they get a pretty convincing victory here going into the bye week. Get Adams, Lang, and Burnett healthy and ready to go heading into Denver.
I hate being bi-polar. It's awesome.

Bears just grabbed gaston off our PS. I kinda liked him.....he looked like he could be a decent rotation guy in a year or so.

Anybody see the Chargers much this year?
I wonder if they run much no-huddle or hurry-up offense.
I'd definitely do that vs Capers if I were another team- stop us from rotating in fresh pass-rushers a bit. You'd think with the amount of responsibility Rivers has calling plays at the line that the hurry-up is in their repertoire.
Could be hard with their O-line injuries though.

I really like Rivers as a QB, but he's going to killed today. I'm hoping Elliot gets all of Perry's snaps.

Really want to see the offense gel today going into the bye, this is probably the worst defense we've played since the Bears and the O could use some momentum going into the bye/denver game.

I squandered an asset? Then Hammond taught me well.

Yeah, but the reason they're only 8-17 is because they lost to us 5 times.

And if you look at the other undefeated team's strength of schedule, they're all as weak or even weaker.

Just for fun, here are all the undefeated teams and how they stack up in terms of opponent's combined record and how many winning teams they've beaten:

TEAM----------------------OPPONENT RECORD-------------+.500 TEAMS BEATEN
NE (4 games)---------------------9-11------------------------------2
ATL--------------------------------10-15-----------------------------1
GB/CIN----------------------------8-17------------------------------0
DEN--------------------------------6-18------------------------------0
CAR (4 games)-------------------5-15------------------------------0

Really not much to see here and no surprises- 5 weeks in and winning teams have beat losing teams- shocking. The difference between NE and everyone else is that they've twice beat 3-2 teams. ATL has beat one 3-2 team.

Couple of other notable or relevant teams:

STL(2-3)--------------------------16-9 (!)---------------------------1
NYG(3-2)--------------------------13-12-----------------------------1
AZ(4-1)----------------------------6-19------------------------------0
SEA(2-3)--------------------------14-11-----------------------------0
KC(1-4)----------------------------18-7 (!)--------------------------0

Again, I don't see much automatic value in looking at "strength of schedule" 5 weeks into the season, but there it is for whatever it's worth.
KC and STL have had pretty darn brutal schedules so far though, and the Giants look under-the-radar good.
GBs wins look better when you consider how the teams they've beaten have arrived at their losing records. But I think everybody already knew that- that's the thing with looking at opponents' W/L 5 games into the season- it's only meaningful if the results are really extreme, and if they are really extreme, then you don't need stats to show it because it's usually pretty obvious already.

I posted this on Tue night, before ATL lost.
But if you were, and I suspect you were, not counting NE and CAR because they've only played 4 games (Which is logical IMO- 4-0 is pretty different from 5-0 in the NFL) then you're totally right- we are as good as, or better than, the other 5-0 teams in terms of SOS.

SoS arguments are relatively useless. I absolutely despise them. You can only play the teams on your schedule. It's how you play against them. It's not like we're squeaking out wins.

Also for those that think that this has been the easy part of our schedule because of the W/L record for our opponents I couldn't disagree more. After we play Carolina we get into our divisional games and quite frankly our division kinda sucks. We have 4 what someone could call tough road games in the 2nd half of the season. Denver, Carolina, Minnesota and Arizona . That's just par for the course and 3 of those teams are seriously flawed. Our toughest home game is against Dallas but I have zero fear of losing at Lambeau. This team is going 13-3 at worst at this point barring an injury to Rodgers or Clay.

We roll at Lambeau today. 34-16 Packers
