How about the #1 draft pick making a **** play like that to end the game. Don't call him a rookie that mother **** just made a Charles Woodson like play. That was **** brilliant.

Holy crap. What a play. Wow. Randall holy **** that's some playmaking **** right there.

Great instincts on an extremely important play. He wasn't scared at all and played it exactly how you should.

Something that was pretty cool was on 2nd down? When they threw it incomplete and Woodhead was wide friggin open Mathews immediately after the play was pointing at Woodhead basically saying, How the hell is this guy wide open??

In previous years, our secondary would still be bumping into each other and repeating the same mistakes and the opposing offense would run it again and we'd still be running into each other and after the game calling them miscommunications. But here, the offense saw Woodhead open, went back to it 2 plays later but THIS TIME, there was some communication for it to NOT happen again, or at least Randall stepped up and figured it out.

It's excellent to see they noticed a screw up and corrected it 2 downs later instead of figuring it out in the offseason.

Randall says he baited Rivers!?

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Rookie cornerback Damarious Randall had a feeling that Philip Rivers' final pass might be headed his way.

Fourth-and-goal from the 3 with 15 seconds left, and the San Diego Chargers needed a touchdown to tie the Green Bay Packers and possibly force overtime.

Randall, a first-round draft pick, had to keep tabs on both Antonio Gates and Danny Woodhead lined up on the right side of the formation.

Randall lunged to poke away Rivers' short throw to Woodhead near the front right pylon in the final seconds to preserve the Packers' 27-20 victory on Sunday, overcoming a career performance by Rivers.

"Biggest play of the game," coach Mike McCarthy said. "Damarious is off to a great start."

The fans inside Lambeau Field erupted with a collective sigh of relief. Green Bay (6-0) survived its biggest scare of the season to stay unbeaten.

Rivers set franchise marks with career highs of 43 completions, 65 attempts and 503 yards passing. He threw for two touchdowns for the Chargers (2-4). His 43 completions were the most in NFL history in a loss; he needed one more, at least.

But as the fourth-down play developed, Randall remembered that San Diego ran the same play on second down, but tried to get the ball to Gates.

This time, linebacker Clay Matthews covered Gates inside. Woodhead broke outside, with Randall trailing from behind.

"I was acting like I really wasn't seeing him, but honestly, I was just trying to bait him a little bit," Randall said.

If he actually was baiting Woodhead it worked because I peed in my pants a little when I initially saw Woodhead alone in the endzone and Rivers had a clean throwing lane to give it to him. Maybe Randall was making Woodhead look open because he didn't want Rivers going after the matchup of Clay on Gates? I dunno. Or he was baiting him because he absolutely knew he had the speed to get there. But Randall is impressing me every week. Don't forget he also had a really nice breakup in the endzone earlier in the game.
