I don't think it's weight or conditioning. Maybe some lingering effects of the injury combined with poor blocking at the point of attack against a couple of good defensive fronts, but I think he'll be fine.

And if he wants to indulge himself in the offseason, I have no problem with that.

I think he's sad.

We might have to offer starks a 1yr deal to keep him around as insurance in the offseason. Can't trust Lacy at all right now.

I don't mind so much if Lacy is slightly plump if he can play well at a bigger size, but he's going down SO EASY after contact. I remember Lacy would NEVER go down after the first contact, sometimes 2nd, sometimes the THIRD guy had to bring him down. Lacy was breaking tackles like Lynch at one point. I don't know what the heck happened to THAT Lacy. Even if he gained a bunch of weight why would that make him fall down so easy? Too much junk in the trunk for his legs to hold up??

I think we need to draft a smaller and faster running back to compliment Lacy and Starks.

So the last time Lacy was ineffective it was coming off the concussion, I believe against Washington. It took him a few weeks to run hard, this feels very similar to me.

That said, it would be interesting to see how much we are running out of the pistol or shotgun and his yards per carry versus when Rodgers is lined up under center. Just doesn't seem like he is seeing the holes and just ends up running into Sitton's ass.

Yeah, someone like Raijon Neal.

Or....just get Neal back. I really think he would be helping this offense.

Also, we should be asking "What's wrong with Bakhtiari?" He has regressed every year it seems.

We could have a Bakhtiari thread, the whole offensive line isn't run blocking well. Starks seemed to gain at most a yard or 2 yesterday. Their pass blocking seemed better than past 2 weeks at least.

Neal might be faster than Lacy. He's definitely not faster than Starks. Harris isn't smaller, but he's probably faster than Lacy, too.

We don't have anyone with the kind of burst that really scares a defense, but I think we're fine at RB.

Adams has got to get more violent and get off the LOS as if his job is on the line, because it probably is. Jordy's coming back and Montgomery is a monster. Jones is probably gone at the end of the year, but Adams has been soft coming off the line and soft with the ball in the air, and there's absolutely no reason for either when he's bigger and stronger than 90% of the guys across from him. I realize that a lot of the balls thrown his way were not well thrown, but he had a lot of opportunities to prove he could make the above average play and he flat didn't do it. Rodgers is playing some of the worst ball of his career, but damn it these guys are supposed to be talented and they need to demonstrate that they can beat people. The only thing they've been doing well is block.

I think that's a decent theory.

The Panthers game was the first time I recall seeing him get tackled and get planted on his back. In the past, he's going forward, even if it's a loss. My concern though is that he isn't hurt, but trying to avoid injury.

If he's trying to avoid injury, that's bad news, then he's no longer in the right sport.
