Not surprising to me. Anyone know about any Kerry Wood updates?

I was really hoping Kerry would give the bullpen a big boost when he came back, now sure would've been a good time. I think he can be our best closer if he's healthy.

With the exception of the trouble he faced yesterday, Marmol may be an option as our closer. He he been throwing the ball very well.

Latest on Wood..

ChicagoSports.com wrote:Kerry Wood will throw his first bullpen session since spring training Tuesday at Wrigley Field, a big step back from the shoulder problem that has sidelined him the last three months.

The Cubs are putting no timetable on Wood's return, and it normally wouldn't take a reliever as long to rehab his arm as a starter. But the Cubs are expected to proceed cautiously, knowing Wood's history of returning before he's ready and then aggravating the injury.

If everything goes smoothly and Wood's arm strength returns, chances are he could begin a rehab stint soon after the All-Star break and be back by late July or early August.

Damn I saw Wood throw some pitches on May 28th in the bullpen and he looked good. I am surprised they don't expect him to be back until August.

I think with Wood they've just come to expect the worst. There is no reason to rush him at all, and frankly, as long as he's back next year (with Prior), I'll be fine. :P

It so frustrating watching these 2 guys with a ton of talent not get to show it off.

Return to Chicago Cubs
