NFL Schedule Release - Tonight - 4/14

Jax sucks. Did a tail gate there when I lived in miami and drive up and my packer family flew down. We had fun in spite of what a **** town Jax is. Omg. It's crap. No reason to ever go back.


You know it's gonna a be a problem when you are staying at a hotel downtown and you ask the receptionist in the hotel lobby.. What's there to do here or to see? And she gives you a blank stare and kinda shrugs her shoulders and can't give you an answer, fumbles for a bit and then gives up.

This cannot be stressed enough, my wife and I are going to be moving to Florida so for the last few years we have been scouting cities and Jacksonville is the absolute worst. What a dead city there is literally nothing to do there. We were out at some riverfront mall thing at 5pm on a Friday and all the businesses were closing up for the day. It was mind blowing because our downtown in Milwaukee despite way worse weather will go until bar close and they were just shutting down and it was a ghost town.

I distinctly remember how many complaints came out about Jacksonville when they hosted a Super Bowl a few years ago - not enough hotels, not much to do, **** town in general.

Bahahahaah. We eventually walked over to that riverfront mall thing and when we got there all we saw were a bunch of Packers fans wandering around like us wondering wtf to do here.

Always hate the early bye. I never buy into the "on paper" stuff, because there's so much parody and turnover in the NFL. I could see half those teams improving this year. As usual for the past several years, barring major injuries I'd be disappointed with anything less than 12-4.

Who has the best bye week?

Stop. Honest. If you're angry about having an early bye week because you want your team to get its week of rest later in the year, you're wasting your energy. History tells us that there is no meaningful relationship between the time when a team has its bye week and its eventual success. If anything, teams with early bye weeks seem to have been more successful, although I doubt the evidence is strong enough to make a definitive claim.

Who goes on the most forbidding road trip?

The NFL is typically very good about keeping teams away from spending weeks at a time on the road. There are the occasional multiweek trips to one coast or the other, but the vast majority of the league's teams go only two games before playing at home. The only exceptions are the Packers and Redskins, each of which go on three-game road trips at one point or another this season.

Of course, between the two of them, I think most people would pick the Packers and their schedule. No, not because they have Aaron Rodgers and the rest of the league doesn't. It's because the league made up for that three-game stretch for the Packers by giving them a whopping four-game homestand during the fall.
