Hornibrook got hit a couple times and then he started to feel pressure that wasn't there. Made him indecisive or lock onto one guy (peavy, always peavy) who was not consistently beating his man (save the one play where he did for an easy TD and Hornibrook overshot him by 10 yards).

Terrible day for the kid. Inaccurate throws, bad decisions, poor pocket awareness. No one made it easier on him offensively, including his coach, but you gotta be better.

Also, award for incredible lack of effort in a do or die situation goes to George Rushing. Turn your head, slow down slightly, and jump. The CB wold have bowled you over completely for what would have had to been called PI. Or just continue running away from the ball like you did.

I saw two times where Hornibrook crumbled like he was being sacked where he could have took off running left or right. Hell, one time he did it and had two lanes opened, nobody close to him, and a receiver wide open. Never saw anything like that.

On top of that the refs sucked. The personal foul call was a joke, they called holding on our DT against the oline (never saw that) when their left tackle was holding our guy. And as good of a catch as that final interview was, he caught ithe with one hand because he used his other hand as leverage which is PI.

Refs had nothing to do with it

I still dont think this would have changed the outcome of the game based on the crappiness of the offense.

I don't like that they call PI whenever they see a guy's arm hooked around the WR so I'm not going to complain too much, but if that's the precedent they set then that play is an exhibit A pass interference call. Either call it every time or don't. I'm not saying they would have scored either way, but the drive should have absolutely been kept alive and that was a blown call at the most crucial time in the game.

If Rushing doesn't keep running when he obviously sees the ball is underthrown, he probably would've gotten the call even if the Michigan guy was looking for the ball too. The problem was he kept running instead of fighting for the ball so the refs probably just let that arm around the hip go.
